Thanks for the chance to win!

Today, just after I left the grocery store, my grocery list (for the next store I was stopping at) got blown off my cart and got caught underneath the front grill of a parked car. This man, who I thought owned the car, got down on his hands & knees and got it back for me (I did say that I would get it if he couldn't/didn't want to). Turns out, it was my old gym teacher (my mom told me later, since I wasn't sure) and I'm so glad he's still as nice a guy as he was way back then. :D

As for me, I always try to hold doors open for other people.

The last RAOK of kindness i've received was a homemade fan from Japan. My family hosted a couple of Japanese students during the summer and as we found out, they love giving gifts! It was an enjoyable week with them (I hope they had fun as well). :)

Thank you

My latest RAOK is also my favorite. It just happens to be nail polish related!

I really appreciate it when people take time to compliment me on my manicure / nail polish. It can be a store cashier, a co-worker of mine, or just a complete stranger that takes time to say something (sometimes it’s even men!). I have a lot of duplicate bottles of polish, also, if I’m buying a really cool color, I’ll buy 2 bottles. One for me, and one for the person who compliments me! I take a little piece of paper and write:

“Thank you for complimenting my nails! I really appreciate that you are making the world a much nicer place by taking time to pass on a compliment. Here’s a bottle of the nail polish I’m wearing. I hope you enjoy it ~ and please keep sharing your kindness!”

I punch a hole in the paper and tie it on the nail polish bottle with some ribbon or string. I then put it in one of those 3X5 cloth gift bags with a drawstring that you can buy inexpensively at a craft supply store. Usually there are several in a package for under $1. I stock up on a bunch of them (the non-holiday looking ones) during the Xmas clearance sales. I then put my little package in a Ziploc bag and put it in my purse. When a compliment comes, I take it out of the Ziploc bag and hand it to the person with a big “Thanks!”. Then I go on – I don’t say anything else.

It’s a blast! Give it a try – I think you’ll like it!

It’s my lil PPP ~ Polish for Pleasant People :}

Cheers!

This is so nice of you!
The last random act of kindness done towards me was today, when a person in one of my classes noticed I was sitting alone and involved me in their conversation.

Ooohh a giveaway! Lol.

I would have to agree that the latest RAOK I received was you posting my blog up on yours. :)

But the latest one I gave was when I was driving home with my mom some time ago, and at a stop light a street child came up to us and tried to sell us some flowers so she could eat. I didn't have money/change so instead and I noticed she was barefooted so I gave her my flip flops instead. The look of shock on her face was quite amusing, but she was really sweet, couldn't stop thanking me. That really made my week.

A RAOK towards me, its simple but its something that made my day. A co-worker brough me a sweet tea from McDonalds cause she knows its my favorite drink and reminds me of home so much! I know its little and nothing all that spectacular but its the thought that counts!

I love the idea of giving away a bottle of polish to someone that compliments you! Most of my compliments come from guys at work!

Jessica,

I'm glad you like the RAOK - I hope you use it:} As far as "the guys" go... It actually passes on twice the kindness when you give them the polish, because then they are going to give it to their Mom, sister or girlfriend, and they'll have to tell them that they complimented someone on her nail polish! Trust me, Mom, sister or girlfriend will be SO PROUD of their male :} Or... if it's a REALLY COOL guy - HE'LL WEAR THE POLISH!!! Whoooooooo whoooooo!!!

Ooh, RAOK. Hmm, I knew my friend was exhausted from pulling an all nighter writing an essay, so I picked up a drink from Starbucks for her before class to get her through the day. Seems like it helped her get through that class!

I recently won a perfume from a youtube giveaway but I received two from the sponsor. I immediately emailed the host of the giveaway and told her that I received two bottles and that the winner of the other perfume might not receive hers. Turns out there was a mistake over at the sponsor and luckily I told them about it or else the other winner will not have received her prize. I don't know if that qualifies as a RAOK but I just wanted to share that!

I was kind to James on our holiday... I only dragged him to the shops like 12 times looking for fun things. You'd be proud of me, I ONLY bought like 9 bottles of polish... stopping at 9 is kind right? :P

Brooke, does email subscribers count? I am in a stressful situation right now and receive support from my friend. You can say it's not a RAOK, but he doesn't have to support me, he wants to. That's what matters, right?
