REDS WITH SHIMMER FOR HEAVENNRJ

This post is for HeavenNRJ who requested some reds with shimmer. I swatched about 5 or 6 more colors last night for you and then I went off and left my camera at home!! I could just kick myself right now. I did find some that I already had on the computer, so here are a few. I'm so sorry I forgot my camera - I know I picked it up to put it in my bag this morning, but obviously I got side tracked along the way and it is at home laying on a couch or table some where!

VELVET ROPE

CHINA GLAZE:
POWER OF RED

PIN PRICK

I'M NOT BITTER

I know, only four, I suck!! But, you can always check out the Community Nail Polish Gallery. You can search by color, finish and brand. I use that alot whenever I am going to place an order, especially since the colors vary so much from the etailer to real life.

READER REQUEST

Yesterday I had a comment from one of my fabulous readers that they would like to see the Houndstooth pattern I did on my nails done in the traditional black and white.
Here is what I used:
Konad Plate M63

Konad Special Polish in White

China Glaze - Liquid Leather

I had a couple of smudges due to my own error and then I didn't clean off my stamper as well as I thought because when I used the red paint for my thumb (more on that below) I didn't get it all off because you can see a little of the red paint on my middle finger. However, I still believe that you can get the idea.

I have never used my Konad Special Polish in red, so I thought I would try the red on my thumb. The white polish is so pigmented that I thought the red would have shown up more vibrantly than it did. It ended up looking brown when stamped over black.

SWIRL NAILS

I rec'd a great request for me to try out some swirl nail art from my fellow blogger Katee from e-polishblog. I tried this out Friday night, and was pretty impressed with the results. I was really trying to get pictures up Sat., but we had some unexpected guests this weekend, so I just waited until Monday morning.

It was fairly easy to do, the technique took a couple of nails for me to get down. I kept mixing the colors instead of swirling them. You can find the tutorial for how to do the swirl nail art here. I tried out two different "sets" of colors on each hand.

For the first set of colors I used all Color Club nail polishes in Limelight (neon green), Power Play (pink) & Screamin Fuchsia (neon pink). I then used one coat of China Glaze - Fairy Dust, a great glitter polish. I thought after I added the Fairy Dust that it made my nails look like sand art! You know the sand art where you picked out a bottle and then added layers of different colored sand in the bottle, well that what it reminded me of.

For the other hand I used Zoya - Delilah (red glitter), Love My Nails - Black Rage (black creme) & Black Radiance - Tease (gold shimmer). These colors didn't seem to swirl as well. It might have been in part because of the black. This black is so watery and clear, it isn't a very good black at all. Also the Black Radiance tends to be a little on the watery side and usually takes at least two coats to get to opaque. However, I was still pleased with the results. I used one coat of China Glaze - Golden Enchantment, which is the gold version of Fairy Dust.

Katee - Thanks for the request. I had alot of fun doing this! I would love to hear if anyone tries this out for them selves and see any pictures you take of it.
If anyone else has any request I would love to hear them and try them out - so please send them my way!
