ARE THEY DUPES?

I had a reader, Penny, ask me if China Glazes - Grape Juice from the Summer Days collection and Flying Dragon were dupes, or close enough to not need both bottles.

There are distinct differences between these two polishes. Flying Dragon has multicolored glitter where Grape Juice contains no glitter. Grape Juice has "glass fleck" shimmer through out. Flying Dragon is opaque with one coat, where Grape Juice is somewhat on the sheer side, I have had to use three coats to erase all VNL. Also, the base purple color of each is different. I didn't do swatch's on the nails because I think it is pretty evident just by the bottle pics that they are two totally different colors. I would say YES to getting both! Hope this helped Penny!

Penny, make sure you click these pictures to enlarge them, you will really see the differences in these two polishes.

I agree with your comparison. Both are needed, too different from each other :)

thank you for the comparison! I've already seen the difference between these polishes, but for those who haven't, it's a great post!

Wow, yeah it's plain to see when they are next to each other. Flying Dragon looks wicked.

PIXIE - Agreed! These two are very different!

MARY - Thanks! I agree :)

ALEXLYNDRA - Thanks. It's amazing how close colors can seem until you actually get them next to each other sometimes, ya know!

CLOCKWORK - I am surprised you don't own that color already! It totally seems like a "Clockwork Color"!

RAI - Both are pretty, but I prefer Flying Dragon.

THE ASIAN GIRL - I agree, now is a good time to get down to Sallys and get some polish!!

Hi Brooke,
Thanks for the picture of the two polishes. They are different enough to want both of them :) I wasn't sure from previous pictures but seeing them side by side was a big help. I have a bunch of blue polish that are just a shade off from each other that I wouldn't have purchased them if they had been beside each other. But Flying Dragon and Grape Juice are different. Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures!
