ST PATTY'S DAY MANI

HAPPY ST PATTY'S DAY!! Here is my mani I did. I'm hoping this will last through a couple days of our trip. I almost didn't do a St Patrick's themed mani, I was kind of at a loss of what I should do. I just didn't want to do what every one else has done.

As I sat down and looked at my nail stuff this just kind of came to me and I loved it!! I used New York Summer - Hot Green for the base and used two different colored green glitters. I placed the glitters one by one - which sounds more time consuming that it really was. It only took me about 20 or so minutes to place the glitters. My nails are super sparkly in person and no matter how many times I took pics of it I just couldn't capture it at all.

HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY!

Top o' the mornin' (in my best Irish accent)!!

Last night I had no idea what I was going to do for my St. Patty's Day mani, it was literally 9:00 before I even got started on it. The best way I get creative, especially if I don't have an idea already in my head, is to surround my self with all my nail art supplies. I will just start painting nails different colors, trying out my paints, nail art pens, stickers, etc - I got it, I am probably using it! Then when I get a nail that I am happy with, I take it all off and do all of my nails like the one that I liked the most. That is exactly what happened last night, I just played around with some different designs for about 30 minutes.

After deciding on this design, I got to work on it. I knew it was going to take me a while to complete. While not complicated in the least, it was tedious work! I used Misa - Toxic Seduction for the nail color. Toxic Seduction is a dark, forest green with a lighter green shimmer to it. I thought it was gold shimmer, but on further inspection, I really think it is just a lighter green. Next I made my clovers with what I call "tinsel" and glitter dots. I used the tinsel to make the clover stems, and then placed for glitter dots in a square to make the four leaf clover. To do both hands it probably took me 30-45 minutes, but time sure flies when you are having fun :) The hardest part about doing the clover design was messing with those little gold glitters. If one accidentally dropped before I placed it, it was hell getting it to move with out messing up the mani, so not all of my clovers are perfect. Of course unless you are just ZOOMED in on my nails, the slight imperfections are not noticeable in the least.

I am pretty please with this mani. I think it has just the right amount of glint off the gold glitters. I really like the gold against the dark green of Toxic Seduction too.

Try to ignore that little cut on my cuticle!!

Unless you enlarge this pic, you can't see the nail arts, but I wanted to let the St. Patty's Day crown get in on one last pic :)

I have no plans for today's holiday. Back when I was younger and single, you couldn't keep me home on a holiday such as this. Maybe I should make an all green dinner, lol! OF course that immediately brought to mind that dinner that the mom made in the movie Better Off Dead (one of my ALL time favorite movies- ever!). The mom couldn't cook, and she served up a green blob with raisins for dinner one night, and it literally crawled right off his plate!

I just scanned the Internet for the last 25 minutes trying to find a picture of the green blob from Better Off Dead, and I finally found a pic! YOu can see it has crawled off the plate and is over by the pop can!

  • So do you all have St. Patty's Day plans?
  • What does your St. Patty's Day Mani look like?
  • Does anyone else love the movie Better Off Dead?

Thanks to all who entered in this little last minute contest. As you may have seen I have a BIG PRIZE EXTRAVAGANZA CONTEST coming up, so if you weren't the winner here, check back for another chance - details coming sooooon :)

WHAT YOU CAN WIN TODAY!!

I KNOW YOU WANT ME!!
THEN COME GET ME!!!

If you haven't heard I am having a small little St. Patty's day inspired giveaway today. Please click here to enter to win! But remember this contest ends TODAY, so you don't have much time left!

Last night I used my set of the same colors to show you just how GREAT these look together. Sinful Colors # 198 Irish Green went on pretty sheer, so I decided to paint a white undercoat. I used my new Mac Hello Kitty Vestral White and painted one thin base coat. Then I used the Irish Green and painted a semi-thick coat of that over the white. Then to top it off I used #220 Green Ocean. Green Ocean is such a cool color ladies! It has glitter and flakies in it, which makes for one flashy nail! I topped it all off with a coat of Seche fast drying top coat.
I really could not stop looking at my nails last night. I really, really like this. This is my NOTD, and I have already gotten a compliment from the lady at 7-11, my son's daycare and even one of the guys here at work noticed my nails.
To make this look yours you can do two things:
ENTER MY GIVEAWAY and win it!
Or, go down to Walgreen's and buy these colors yourself. They are in a special Shamrock Colors display, but hurry! Most of the displays I have seen have almost been emptied. These nail polishes retail for $1.99 ea.
I looked on Sinful's website and I saw neither of these colors listed for sale on there, which leads me to believe that these are a LE (limited edition) release. I have an email into Sinful to find out some more info, so hopefully I will hear back from them.
Good Luck!

SHAMROCK COLORS. . . .ROCK!!

Ok, my second post on something I found at Contests and Such . . . if you haven't been over there, I suggest you get there now! Nessa's has had me busy today chasing down some nail polish I saw posted on her site! Click here for Nessa's pics and post!

Nessa found two new displays at Walgreens for Sinful Colors. There is a Shamrock Colors which consists of two green colors. I am not for sure if these are new or not. One is a glitter green with lots of glitter and there are some chunky flakes in it too. The other is a creme and I would call this your basic crayola crayon green.
The next collection is the Tropical Colors. My two Walgreen's around me didn't have the Tropical Colors collection, but I will be trying two more Walgreen's tonight around my house to see if they have it up yet.
SO like I said, Nessa sent me running at lunch to acquire some of these beauties! So behold the Shamrock collection:

As a side note, I got on Sinful Colors website to find out more information on these collections. Needless to say I was not impressed. Their website contained no information at all on these! I sent an email to them suggesting that they list their collections on their website in the future, that it would most helpful. We shall see if it helped :)
