NOTLCOD

I bet you all are wondering what the heck is "NOTLCOD" - - - lol! Well it stands for Nail Of The Last Couple Of Days :)

Stupid I know, but NOTD wasn't quite right since I have been wearing this for the last couple of days. I didn't post this yesterday because this is a color that I have worn before and I didn't do anything special to it with any nail art or anything.

I decided to post it today since I haven't posted any pics of my fake nails since I put them on last Saturday night. So what the heck!! (Yes I do put on my own fake nails.)

I know some of you all are not fans of fake nails - but I see it as do what works for you and what makes YOU happy. Sometimes fake nails make me happy so I wear them from time to time. I get tired of them and take them off and go with my real ones. I just do whatever makes ME happy :)

DINKY NAILS

My good friend Jen from Never Too Much Glitter did a wonderful thing for me :) She made me my very own custom set of nails fashioned after Dinky! How cool is that?! And not only did Jen send me these nails, but she included a couple packs of those red jewels I was needing to do my sailor nails - woooooo hoooo! And of course she didn't forget my son Little either, and included a cute little Snoopy key chain that we put on his back pack. Thank you Jen for all your thoughtfulness and kindness! You all might have already seen these over on her blog, after my break I took I am just now getting around to getting the pics up.

I think these are so creative, good work Jen! I will have pics of me wearing these as soon as I get me some of those re-usable sticky backs to put on them.

If you are interested in creative nails like these, take a look at what else Jen has up for sale in her online Etsy shop:

I am in LOVE with all of these colors!! And I just adore the names :)

I love how funky this green looks!

AWESOME, right? I don't believe that any of these were priced over $15.00, and shipping is only $3! These nails can be worn over and over again, if you don't glue them. The designs I just showed you all are just a sample of what Jen has to offer, so take a minute and check out her awesome Etsy Shop!
:::EDIT:::
I forgot the best part!!!
10% of the profits from all sales will go to homeless animal rescue and spay/neuter programs.
Thank you again Jen for designing me a set of Dinky Nails!

My order from Misa came in today. I am really pleased with all the colors I got, but I really wanted to try out A Sin Worth Committing. I was not disappointed.

Of course, you know I couldn't leave my nails "nekkid", I had to add some nail art :)

LEAF SCRAPBOOK STICKER DESIGN

****see updated outside pics at bottom of this post****

I came up with the idea for this on Monday. Recently I purchased some scrapbook stickers at Michael's to use on top of my nails, sort of like nail art stickers. But I thought the designs were so cool, it might look neat to paint my nails, put a sticker on, paint my nails another color and then pull off the sticker. So when I got home I decided to do it. It worked out pretty good. I noticed that some of the more intricate designs I had more trouble getting them peeled off my nails in one pull. If you look close you can see a couple of spots where I messed up my polish trying to get the sticker off. In real life though, these nails look pretty hot!

First I painted my nails with China Glaze - QT. I did two coats of that, and let it dry.

Then I used one of the smaller silver stickers and placed it on my dry nail. I tried to leave some of the sticker hanging off of the nail so I would have something for my tweezers to grab when it comes time to take the stickers off. I picked this design of sticker since it could easily be cut down to fit my nail if needed.

Picture shows the sticker on my painted nail

Next, I painted over my entire nail, sticker and all, with China Glaze - Let's Do It in 3-D. I used two coats of this and let it dry somewhat. Then using tweezers I pulled the sticker off. I then used my Poshe top coat and did two good coats over my nails.

UPDATED OUTSIDE PICS BELOW

I couldn't let all the sunshine today go to waste without taking a pic - look at all that bling!

NEW CAMERA, OLD CAMERA PICS

Well I got a new camera. I got the Canon PowerShot SX110 IS. I am so excited about this bad boy! Now I just need to figure out how to use this sucker. I tried to install the disc that came with the camera, but when I try to access the part I have to go to to download my pics from my camera to my computer a notice keeps coming up saying there was an error and it must close down - wtf??? I'm going to try to do this on my laptop at home tonight and see if I am getting the same message as my computer up here at work. (keeping fingers crossed I don't)

Anyone with this camera, or just anyone that could offer some advice I would really be great full!

In the meantime I have a few nail pics that I took with my old camera:
These first pics are just some fooling around I was doing trying to come up with some ideas for my sisters nails for the wedding. The blue background color on my nails was just the color I had on at the time, her nails would have been painted a color to go with her wedding colors or left neutral. The silver leafy designs were some scrapbook stickers I found at Michael's. Yes, scrapbook. I have found a new place to find cheap nail items, look no further than the scrapbook section of your craft supply store. I found jewels, stickers, pearls, all sorts of things that are so much cheaper than getting them from say, Sally's.

This next one was just some silver bouillons I used (these did come from Sally's)
After I did this design, I got a great idea for a wedding ring nail:
How cute is that? I loved this when I got done with it. I used two long, rectangle shaped jewels and placed them right next to each other, then used my silver bouillons to make the "band" of the ring.
These are just some red glitter tips I did using Color Club - Art of Seduction.

That's all I have for you now. Hopefully I will have some new, wonderful, in-focus, beautiful nail pics for you with my new camera later tonight, or in the morning.

REINDEER NAILS

I just came across some of the cutest nails I have seen this Christmas!! I found them on Mini Nail Blog. Take a look at these:

Photos property and courtesy of Mini Nail Blog

Are you kidding me with these? I'm in love - lol! I love cutesy tootsey stuff like this! She hand made all the little reindeer with acrylic! Can you believe that? How creative is she?

Here is the link to her blog about these nails.

And here is the link to the post where she shows how she made them from the acrylic.

I am always so impressed with work done like this! The little reindeer are the "bomb" in my opinion :) And the little red Rudolph nose ---**dead**---

Please check her blog out, she has detailed descriptions for different nail art, and several step by step pictures also.

DRAGON TALES

I PUT MY NAILS BACK ON!!!!!

SIKE! --------LOLOLOLOL

This is an old NOTD that I did, but I just couldn't resist teasing you guys just a little (especially all of you that have left me encouraging messages in the comment section about my shorties).
This was one of the colors I picked up at Sally's the other day while they were having their buy two China Glaze's get one free offer. I had really thought I was going to like Turned up Turquoise, but surprisingly the other two colors I picked up I liked alot more. Flying Dragon (shown above) and Frostbite I really liked.
Flying Dragon is a very unique color. Of course once again my swatches are no fun because it really doesn't show the details of this color. It is a purple with like magenta & purple or blue glitter in it. My only complaint with this color is that I didn't like the finished texture of it. I felt as though I needed to add another thick top coating of Poshe to smooth it out. So the next day I couldn't take it anymore, I added another thick coating of Poshe and it still felt as though another coat was needed. All in all I can deal with that, for the cool, unique color this polish is.
For those of you that have this polish I would love to know what you think of Flying Dragon......
What is your favorite purple nail polish???

NAIL VENUS MAGAZINE

Nail Venus magazine is one of many Japanese magazines dedicated to nail art. These magazines are literally page after page of nails and nail art. I finally found a site where I can view these magazines in full, but I can't embed any of the images from them on here, so I will just have to provide the links. These were just a couple of the nails that really stood out to me.

The first link is a page that has REAL diamonds on this lady's tips! I don't know if that is really what you are buying (it is in another language) or if they are referring to diamond "strength", but it sure looks like the diamonds are for your nails! Either way what girl wouldn't like this? Can you imagine having money like that??

This next link is just some purple nails that I really liked and I might try to imitate the look for you guys later. The nails on the page I am referring to are the large image nails on the left side of the page.

The third link I have is for some plaid nails. What really impressed me about these is that the magazine shows you how to make the plaid design. I never would have thought that this plaid design was done by hand. The directions make it seem fairly simple, however I don't know how simple it would be doing it on your own hands. I might give this plaid design a shot in the near future though. It kind of looks Christmasey to me!

The last link I have for you is totally not nail related. I was shocked though when I saw this ad. From what I can tell it is for a diet "item" of some sort. They have before, during and after pics of two girls, and I don't know if it is just me, but the after pics these girls look way to skinny! There is so much space in between their little thighs and their little knobby knees just look so sad. I don't know if that is the popular look over there, but it seems even more drastic than the standards that Hollywood has, and I thought that was pretty extreme.

I would love to hear what you guys think about the links that I put up. What do you think about the plaid nails, do you think it is something you might try? Love to hear from you guys, it makes a blog so much more interesting :)

SALLY'S HAUL

I got some cool new nail art stuff at Sally's over this past weekend.

First are these cool foil heart shapes. These can be used inlaid in artificial nails, which makes for a really cool look, in my opinion. They can be used on top of the nail as well.

Here is an example of nails that have been "inlaid" from Viv Simmonds over at Vivid Nails. With the exception of the roses, all of the colors, glitters and nail art items are completely covered by the acrylic or gel, so your nails always look this way with no polish and they have a very smooth finish. Viv has lots of great pics of nails that she does, please take a look at her blog for more examples of her work.

(Above picture is property of Viv Simmonds at Vivid Nails)

Silver Bouillons, these can be used in alot of different ways and can make some intricate looking nail art!

These came as one package. From l to r: Gold Glitter, Foil Tinsel, Small Gold Bouillon, Gold & Silver Foil Hearts.

Sally's has just recently started selling China Glaze fingernail polish for those of you who didn't know. They were having a sale, buy two get one free! I also have a Sally's discount card too, which makes the price around $3.00 each, so I got 3 bottles of China Glaze for $6.00 - can you top that? lol The colors I purchased were: Flying Dragon (swatch's of this coming soon), Turned Up Turquoise & Frostbite. I must admit I was most excited about T.U.T., but after I tried all the colors on I was most impressed with Frostbite (which can be seen in my Christmas Nails Post here. ) All in all I think it was a pretty good haul.
I took my 6 yr old son with me before he had to be at a birthday party, talk about the last place he wanted to be! But he was pretty well behaved, and he sure does love when the girls in the store fawn all over him! His favorite color was Frostbite, he said because it was like frosting you bite - how I love kids ways of thinking!

CHRISTMAS NAILS

Well last night I got a creative streak in me and did a couple of different Christmas nail art designs. I think these turned out really cute, too! I have several pics to show you so I'm gonna cut the typing short on this post and get right to the pics:

Thumb:

OPI - Vodka & Caviar, Colorama - Ruby Rays, Green NAP, Round Multi Colored Glitter, Foil Star

Index Finger:

OPI - Vodka & Caviar, Sinful Colors - San Francisco, Foil "tinsel" type nail art laid in single file lines down nail

Middle Finger:

China Glaze - Frostbite, White NAP, Round Gem Stones, Round foil glitter, used some of the "tinsel" type pieces to accentuate the lines of the snowflakes and add some more bling. This is so pretty in real life. My second favorite I did.

Ring Finger:

OPI - Vodka & Caviar, Green NAP, Round silver glitter used to make the ribbon on the present, a bow shaped gem stone. This one was really hard to capture! Come on Santa I need that new camera!

Pinky Finger:

China Glaze - Frostbite, White & Black NAP, round foil glitter (3 gold for buttons, 2 blue for eyes, and three red to line the top hat) This one is my favorite of the bunch!

Whole Hand:

Nail Polish I Used:

In the picture below, if you look at the second jar from the left, it has the "tinsel" type nail art I described above using.

Merry Christmas ! ! !
