MRS. CLAUS GOES TO CONEY ISLAND

I loved yesterday's look with China Glaze Mrs. Claus so much that I just had to use it again today :)

I thought it would look cute over the light pink American Apparel Coney Island I swatched earlier. It didn't turn out how I thought it would (think red glitter over a pink base) - it was even better! With Mrs. Claus having that red tinted base, it totally transformed Coney Island. It turned my nails into a glittery salmon pink color! I really like this :) My pictures didn't totally capture the salmon pinkness of this but it came close.

MRS. PHAT SANTA CLAUS

Yes, these are Christmas colors that I am just now getting around to using months after Christmas . . . side eye here!!!

First, I don't have my big surprise for my nail polish room ready to share just yet, it might take another week yet before it is done where I can show you all.

Today's NOTD is two base coats of ChG - Phat Santa. Man, this was hard to apply! Did anyone else have trouble with this one? It was really hard to control while applying to my nails and the brush seemed thinner than a normal ChG brush. It made me wonder if they skimp on their quality for specialty collections like this one. . . hmmmm?! It was also one of those colors that always looks like it need to be shined up.

I topped it off with Mrs. Claus - glitter helps anything. This one seemed to apply good, very easy to control and I liked that the glitter was sparse enough to use as a glitter top coat.

ZOYA MAKES MY CHRISTMAS ROCK!!!

OMG - imagine my surprise today when I rec'd a package from Godiva chocolates! I thought this must be a mistake, I couldn't think of anyone that would be sending me a box a chocolates. But as I opened up the package I found a little envelope with a note from none other than ZOYA!!

How awesome was that? This was certainly something that Zoya didn't have to do at all, especially for a little ol' blogger like myself, but it sure did give me a great feeling. It is so nice to be recognized as an important part of Zoya! I know I don't work FOR Zoya but I have worked with Zoya through my blog for product reviews, which really is nice enough. So THANK YOU ZOYA, this was really nice, generous and thoughtful.

*I wanted to post this to share with you all what a wonderful company Zoya is and what great customer service they have!

ORLY - MEET ME UNDER THE MISTLETOE

Good morning gals! Today I'm showing you Orly's Meet Me Under the Mistletoe. I picked this up the other day when I went into Sally's for like the first time in TWO MONTHS!!! Can you believe that it had been so long? Anyway I met a great girl that works there who actually remembered me from being in before and always buying nail polish. I slipped her one of my handy Blog business cards and she actually knew my blog! How cool was that? So Jules if you are reading this...HI and it was great meeting you! And PLEASE, what happens at Sally's stays at Sally's OK?

Ok, so on to the color. I really wanted to be wowed by this, but I was really kind of underwhelmed with how it looked on my nails. There wasn't anything wrong with it, it was just kind of flat. It looks so awesome and flaky and glittery in the bottle but on the nails wah wah waaaah. After yesterday I was ready to take it off. I think it just needed a little something extra like a nice big helping of some peridot green glitter, that would really kick this one up a notch.

It also bothers me just slightly that the font is two different sizes on the label. I know it was too long of a name to fit on one row, but why make THE MISTLETOE so much bigger like it was more important than "meet me under". Did that bother anyone else?

FUN FACT: Mistletoe is Oklahoma's state flower

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! I will be back to regular posting on Monday December 28th. Unless I get really bored or get something so awesome that posting it can't wait until Monday.

Speaking of getting something so awesome, I should have totally asked Santa for one of these:

Just look at what cute things they do:

For the love of Christmas, Santa bring me one of these!!!!

MY CHRISTMAS MANI, MAYBE. . . .

I say maybe because this is my second day wearing this and I don't know if it will hold for another two days - both out of boredom and just normal wear and tear.

Yesterday the mail man commented that he liked my nails while signing for my goodies from Jen. So, that's always nice. Especially when a man notices, you kind of expect for women to notice those things.

Anyway, it doesn't get much better than red and green glitter for Christmas. I used Color Club , Green with Envy and Art of Seduction. These do need a similar color base coat though I think to keep from having to slather on too many coats of glitter. I just used a red polish and a green polish for the base coats and then did two coats each of the red and green glitter.

I got my Rescue Beauty Lounge order today! SO Santa will be leaving me three new polishes under the tree this year!

CUTE MINI NAIL POLISH ORNAMENTS

How cute and creative are these?? I wish I could take credit for them, but I can't. My "OLD" friend, Rock-C, gave these to me. I have seen this brand of nail polish at Walgreens and Ross and even bought a package of them, but it never even crossed my mind to make ornaments out of them.

She really got a kick out of pointing out the brand name of the polish, Cranky Girlz. Like, is she trying to tell me something. . . . . . ??

SLEIGH BELLS BLING

Isn't this mani F-A-B?? I just loved how this turned out. I did this on my mom's nails last night. We weren't quite for sure what we wanted and ended up by the time it was all over with, with this and about 10 coats of nail polish, lol.

For the base we used two coats of Diamond Cosmetics - Angelic and One coat of Misa Sugar Daddy. That gave us a really nice, semi sheer white shimmery base. Then we added China Glaze - Cleopatra on the tips and made a glitter gradient look. Next I stamped a red poinsettia using Konad special polish in red. Lastly, I added a little gold stud to the middle of each flower. Throw in several layers of top coat through out the process of this mani and we got nearly 10 coats of nail polish.

My mom is currently looking for a dishwasher until the holidays - she doesn't want to ruin this mani by doing the dishes. I told her to invest in some rubber gloves, hehehe!!
