HELLO KITTY - GLITTERFIED

Here is my NOTD - a sparkly, glittery, Hello Kitty stamped masterpiece, lol. This came about after sitting at the dining room table for at least an hour with NOTHING working out! I tried several things and they just weren't turning out how I imagined, so I went with my no fail Hello Kitty stamp.

I used Sally Hansen polish for the base colors and then used red and blue Hot Topic glitters for the top. I just LOVE how the hot pink Sally Hansen with the red Hot Topic glitter came out looking bright cherry red, instead of dark red. These are super sparkly and just look awesome! Enjoy :)
**EDIT**
The HELLO KITTY stamp I ordered from Ebay - it isn't Konad brand. Here is a link to some for sale.

NUBAR - SWATCHES ON HOLD

So I get off work early and I'm home an hour and a half earlier than usual. Bright sun shine all around me. What a great opportunity for me to swatch the new, awesome Nubar - Royal Gems collection. I got one color swatched and wouldn't you know that rain clouds came in and ruined my swatching opportunity! DRATS! We are supposed to have some really nice weather this weekend, so I hope to have lots of swatches for you come next week!

I will show you the one that I did get swatched though - 24K:

I had some shade shots of 24K, but for some reason they wouldn't upload on my computer. This weekend I will be swatching 24K again with the rest of the collection, so I will have pics up then. The above picture, I used three coats of 24K.

This is with Tiara added. I used one coat.

I was honestly a little leery of 24K in the bottle. I thought it looked way to yellow to be a "true" gold color. Boy was I wrong, once I put it on, it looked just like gold to me. This is really a very nice gold color and it didn't bring the redness out in my fingers which makes finding golds so hard for me. While looking through my pics on my camera, my BF came across this one and commented how good this color looked - so it definitely passed the BF test! Also, it lookes like it has a rough finish with Tiara on the top, but it doesn't, it is a smooth finish.
So stay tuned for the swatches for the whole Nubar - Royal Gems collection coming soon!!

RANDOM DINKY AND LITTLE PICS

Just a few non-nail related pics I wanted to share.

In my son's new class this year they have a class "pet", a stuffed animal named Milo. Each child gets a turn taking Milo home and must write in a journal a sentence on one thing that they did that night. So I have a couple pics of Little with Milo and his journal entry.

Little and Milo
Little's journal entry, it says - Milo and me played video games.

He also drew a picture of them playing video games.

A close up of the picture, so you all can see it better.
Dinky also got in on all the Milo fun. She was just SURE that Milo was her new toy!

Dinky trying to figure out if Milo is a girl or boy.

BEST PICTURE EVER!!!!!!!!

NIXXY this one is for you, a nice eye capsule shot for you! (she wasn't sleeping here, she was in mid-attack mode on Milo)

Dinky trying to deny beating up poor Milo, she said "who? me??"
**********
Also, when I came to get Little up for school this morning there was poor Milo on the floor wrapped up in a blanket with his head on the pillow. Little said he got put down there so he wouldn't "tug the covers" off him in the night - lol!

RANDOM NAIL POLISHES

Just wanted to share with you all a few random nail polishes I have gotten. The first two were given to my sister from a girl at her work, for her to give to me. They both are color changing nail polishes.

These last three I got from the clearance bin at Sally's. They were only 99 cents each!! Look, they even had a new one, Mint Mojito!

Two of my favorite things: FREE nail polish and deeply DISCOUNTED nail polish!! :)

WE HAVE A WINNER!!

I have randomly selected a winner for the three new Sinful Colors glitters. I used random.org and it selected lucky commenter number 2

I have sent you an email, so be sure to look for it and respond with your address.

Thanks again to all who entered! If you didn't win, don't fear, I have a Halloween nail art contest in the works :)

NOTD - FLAKEY SKULLS

lol!! Sort of sounds like dandruff doesn't it? Here is my nail of the day. All I did was a layer of Nfu Oh # 54 over the top.

THE CONTENTS OF MY 3RD PACKAGE REVEALED

WOW! I can't believe all the guesses I got on my little skull teaser pic! Thanks to all who took the time to make a guess. And I must say I did have to smile at some of the comments made by my fellow Halloween lovers (JAMIE and NICOLE), lol! I figured it would at least drive them nuts :)

So for those of you who guessed 3-D acrylic moulds, you were correct! I got my moulds from 3D NAIL. These things are just awesome I tell you! This is like acrylic 3D nail art for dummies! And by dummies, I mean people like me! I rec'd five moulds from them. The moulds are a flexible, rubber mould that you fill with acrylic, let dry and then pop out. You then place your newly formed piece of 3D nail art on your nail. Below is a short video for the goldfish mould (which I got, squeeeeee!)

See!! How easy does that look?

Here are the moulds that I got:

You will need to enlarge the image to really see all the cute designs on the moulds. I got: The Goldfish, Skulls, flowers, dragonfly and bee, & butterfly bows. They have almost 100 different moulds, so these five are just a fraction of what they offer. (Including a pumpkin one I was really tempted to get.)

I just had to use one of these last night, so I picked the skull one. I just got a little starter acrylic nail set from Sallys to use, that came with a little brush as well as the acrylic stuff I would need. This is the first time I have ever used this stuff and it was a little difficult to figure out how much liquid I needed on the brush, and it wasn't really picking up a little ball of powder like I have seen when I get my nails done. SO I think I need a little practice as far as that goes. Luckily my kit came with a acrylic nail how to DVD, so I will watch that for some pointers. I also noticed when I was done that I did have a few air bubbles in my disign, so I don't think I packed it into the mould enough either. I only got two skulls done when the BF started whining about the smell, so I stopped. So here is my first attempt:

I was literally squealing with delight over this! When I say I squealed, that's what I did, you should have seen Dinky pop her head up from under the covers and cock it sideways at me, lol! I had to show the BF what was causing all the stink. Who then asked, why did I stop . . . . . blank stare right into his eyes, uh weren't you just going into dramatics over the smell?! I swear, at times like these I could star in the next episode of SNAPPED! So I only have this one to show you today, but I plan on putting these moulds to good use, very soon!

I also wanted to point out that I got excellent, personable service on these! I had a few emails going with King, and he was most helpful to me. He was extremely prompt and very courteous with his responses. These came from Taiwan and were shipped on Thursday Aug. 20th and I received them Wednesday Aug 26th!!! That is like super duper fast!

So tell me ladies, what do you think of these 3D acrylic nail art moulds? Something you would purchase or have purchased? I would love to hear all of your opinions on these.
