VALENTINES DAY NAILS - BLACKENED ROSES

Another Valentines mani today - yeeeeaaaaaahhh!! Kind of stuck on the Valentines theme for now. I used Orly Matte Vinyl for the black base and then stamped roses and hearts with cupid arrows with NYC Royal Foil. Loving this! When I showed it to the BF he wanted to know why it looked so dry, lol. I had to inform him it wasn't DRY but MATTE. I decided to put a clear coat over the four nails that I had stamped the hearts with arrows on to shake up the look a little bit. Sorry for the dryness but I couldn't very well oil up my fingers while trying to keep the polish matte looking. This mani is only good for a few hours I would say. The matte starts to get shiny and since it isn't protected I have had some chipping too. But I liked the out come of this one.

(Look at how perfect that stamp came out!!!! Pats on the back Brooke :)

GUEST NAILS - MARBLE MANI

Today I have a guest who would like to share her water marble mani attempt.

Jenelle H. contacted me through email about my hunt for doing a marble mani. Janelle talks about what she used and even a tip to help in attaining a great marble mani.

"
I used NYC polishes in polyester pink, fuchsia shock and white. They worked great! But I did have some trouble at first when I used tap water, I live in the country and we have less-than-perfect water from a well and the nail polish ended up just in a ball at the bottom of the cup. So I used our bottled drinking water and it worked sooo perfectly! "

Absolutely fabulous!! Great job Janelle! I will try the bottled water trick and see if it helps me at all!

TAKE A LOOK INTO MY BAG...

As I told you all, my little sister recently gave me her nail polish collection since I have been doing her nails for her. I thought I would share a couple of the more interesting ones with you.

Mood Changing
Hmmmm, says it changes from Plum Gold to Wine Shimmer. This doesn't look like either one of those colors. I haven't tried it out yet, so I don't know if it still changes colors or not. Tried to find info on this brand on the Internet with no luck.

Brownies Nail Lacquer - Without Nuts
Just a couple of weeks ago I asked if anyone remembered this polish on MUA and got no responses, then here is shows up in the polish Brandi gave me! Does anyone remember these? (NO luck on an Internet search) All the colors were brown (of course) and had names that had to do with brownies. I actually think this was originally my bottle of nail polish - I love this brown, I used to wear it all the time.

NYC - 251A
I have never seen this color before - have you? I tried to search this one too with no luck. I know sometimes these NYC's actually have names and wondered if anyone knows anything about this color. It has kind of a cream colored base with copper glitter in it.

OLD DRAPES, MAYBE CARPET

Old drapes or carpet is what my NOTD reminds me of. Not saying that that is a bad thing, because I really like this. I love the way the colors look together and how nicely defined the details of the konad stamp came out. I thought about maybe adding some jewels to the center of the flowers, but I think I like it better kept simple.

I went off this morning and forgot to grab the nail polishes that I used last night, so I have no pics of them or the names. I will def. update that info tomorrow for any that is interested. I do know the base color was a Nubar from the Vineyard collection and the stamp color is a NYC foil.

I love this so much I **almost** want to wear this another day! I might switch up the colors though. :)

A QUICKIE KONAD

Before removing yesterday's nail polish, I did a quick little konad on it. Since the base color of Diamond Cosmetics - Hot Summer Pink had sort of a blueish tint to it, I went with NYC - Niagara Foils, a blue, shiny foil polish for the stamp. I really liked this image I used, I will have to use this one more often!

HEY! YOU PICKED IT!

Today I have for you all the mani that you picked out for my mom. You all chose:

Purple Nail Color
Creme Finish
Konad Plate M57

I painted my mom's nails with one of my beloved TiNS nail polishes last week and she has been wearing the heck out of it, so that's what took so long on this mani. The TiNS are really so pretty you MUST wear it until the wheels fall off - so to speak :)

Anyway, on to this mani. I spared my mom the animal print - but I was really tempted to use it! I decided to paint the base color using the LA Colors Purple I swatched the other day. I then used the fishnet pattern and NYC - Royal Foil - a purple, foil polish. Then I used the flower pattern from the same plate and China Glaze - Passion and stamped on the flowers. For the final touch, a little clear jewel was added to the center of each flower. I wasn't real impressed with this mani as I got started on it, but the little jewels really added a nice cherry on the top!

Thanks again to all who helped select My Mom's Next Mani!
