THE TACOVILLE EXPERIENCE

Let me introduce you all to the world of Tacoville. My mom has been taking me and my two sisters to Tacoville since we were just younguns. We always order the same thing: Chalupa Supreme with sour cream. The only thing that changes is how many we plan to eat that day. As you will see from the picture below, this is a little hole in the wall place, located in between two vacant stores in a strip mall. Tacoville is what is keeping this rundown strip mall from being knocked down I tell ya. However, during the week the line is usually stretched back to the door and you find all kinds of people in here from the very well dressed business men and women to the homeless (yes, homeless I saw them come in one day and the restaurant gave them some extra food that they had). When my Mom lived out of town (for about the last 15 years) every time she came in we went to Tacoville. She couldn't figure out why we were so close and not eating there everyday. My little sister, the pregnant one, eats Tacoville after every doctors appointment for the baby. Any Oklahoma people on here (Sasha) that can testify to the greatness that is TACOVILLE?

The outside of the restaurant.

The almighty Chalupa Supreme with Sour Cream! A bright white light emits from one of these when you order them.

My son enjoying a beer - a ROOT beer that is! Although, this is the type of place that you can get your special combo meals and the drink is a beer, how great is that?

Mom enjoying Tacoville. If you were there, you would be smiling too!

Yes - that is Miss Getcha Nails Did all out STUFFING her face with a chalupa - at least what was left of it.
*Those of you from Texas please note the t-shirt, it says "BEAT TEXAS"! Represent!!!

Speaking of Representing - here is Momma showing me how it's really done!

**The last two pictures were taken by my son Little - did he do good or what?

So that's Tacoville - hungry yet? Do you all have any little hole in the walls that you can't live without?

KAE - And here I thought I was doing good posting AFTER lunch, lol!

SASHA - Gasp!!!! You haven't been! It is located on the southside. It is off I44 on SW 29th street in between S. May and S. Portland. The actual address to look it up on google maps is: 3502 Newcastle Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73119
Sasha - you have to let me know what you think if you end up going, of course I totally suggest the chalupa supreme with sour cream. Also, not to mention, this place is cheap!

Ohhh I love tacos but you can't get them anywhere here. I did find one place when I was living up north as a student - it was a Mexican stand in a food court in a bit shopping centre - and I was addicted to going there. They had the most amazing cheese sauce, kind of like the stuff you get on cinema nachos but a million times better.

You don't relly get places like that over here. Its all chain chicken / burgers etc and in no way appetising. Mexican food hasn't really hit the UK in a big way (outside of London) which is a real shame as I adore it. So I make my own!

HELEN - Really, that's surprising that it's hard to find mexican food. Mexican food is like comfort food. The cheese sauce that you are talking about is called Queso - and I put it on everything when I eat mexican!

And darn you for making me hungry, Brooke. =[ LMAO!

RAI - I'm telling you the meat has the best taste, that is what makes this place so addictive.

Sorry for the hungries! lol

You know, even if you *are* a darned Okie, I still love this blog. :-)

Tacoville looks amazing! I haven't had Mexican food for a couple weeks, so this weekend might be time to head to our favorite local spot - El Conquistador or Lolitas.

Oh man that looks good. Take out food in Aus sucks. James is from America and he's always complaining and telling me about "all you can eat for $2" etc. Mmmm tacos.

Cruel and unusual punishment. Looks delicious. Little is doing great work as a photographer. He's also doing great work on that Mexican food. I love Mexican food. I don't eat it that often but I love chulpas. There is a little hole in the wall that I haven't tried. Must do that soon. My cereal just didn't taste as good after looking at that.

My mom and sister and I used to go to Godfather's pizza in Fayetteville, NC every Friday when my dad was deployed. My son and I go to this little family-owned place named Izzies and have crab cake salad with onion crisps whenever we go to the dentist. I love traditions like this! Your son looks so happy and your mother is lovely, and it's great seeing a pic of you!

Do they serve beer?????? Maybe we could meet there next Friday night for dinner/drinks?

How about Nino's on Western? That's some good stuff.
