KONAD TIME!

I recently ordered from Konad about 10 new plates and they finally came in yesterday! So last night when I did my nails, there were so many plates and designs to choose from I did one hand with one design and the other with another.

For the base I used Pure Ice - Tease. This is a magenta/pinkish color with lots of blueish/purple shimmer to it. The shimmer almost has a very fine sort of flakey look to it. This color was pretty sheer so I painted four coats. I think if my nails were longer I would have been able to see a visible nail line, but as it is now I HAVE no visible nail line :(

After topping the Pure Ice with Seche and letting it dry, I went to Konading my nails. I used the Zebra print for one hand and the fishnet print for the other. I used Konad Special Polish in black. Most of you know or have heard that this streaks. I thought I was gonna get one over on the polish though. I konaded my nails, leaving the top coat of seche off and then went tanning. SO this polish not only had time to dry completely but I am sure the tanning bed lights would help "cure" the nail polish. WRONG!! The "special polish" still streaked on me! I think from now on I will not use the special polish and stick to regular polish.

Besides all the streaking, I see this morning it looks like I have had this polish on for about a week. Look at all the tip wear on these babies! Guess I will just have to repaint my nails- hehehe!

What a shame Brooke, they would've looked so nice. There's always more polishing to be done! I love the new picture of Dinky! She looks so sweet.

Very cool though - I love the colors and patterns! So is "regular polish" the key to Konad then? I guess I'll have to get out my little set next week, and try it again. I always seem to screw it up, but you gals with all your different plates are really making me want to figure it out. :-)

LUCY - Thanks. That is an older pic of her, but it is one of my faves! I made her that little dress with the angel wings- lol!

JAMIE - I have just used regular polish like China Glaze and I have had no streaks what so ever. I also have heard that if you thin the Special Polish down it will work better, but I figured after letting it "dry" for about an hour I should have been good.

LONDYNKOUTURE - I did order these from Konad, but I found out after I ordered them they had to ship all the way from Japan. I believe you can order the same ones at www.wowsocool.com for about the same price and they are based *i think* out of California. ALso, if you order stuff from Ebay, they have alot of Konad stuff on there for sale.

There are also alot of other animal prints too, my next one I'm gonna paint my nails white and do a hot pink stamp with the cheetah design - hot to trot baby, lol :)

NESSA - The fishnets is what got me from seeing it on others websites. It is just TOO hot! I think it would look good on the toes too.

Nailphile has meantioned that she's gotten the black and white to non-streak by thinning them.

Brooke said...

RACHEL - I read that too. I need to thin mine down and put it to the test.

I was also reading on konad site that it says to cut down on the streaking only go over the nail once with your top coat. I ususally might brush over it two times, so I will have to test that out too. Thanks for the info :)

I read that in order to prevent streaks you have to use the Konad Top Coat. Someone did an experiment and used Konad Top Coat against their Posche Top Coat and the Posche streaked whereas the Konad did not.

Hope this helps.

INGRID - Thanks for the info. I will check into how much konad's top coat is. Thanks for the info! I really appreciate helpful comments like yours :)
