MALL HAUL

I usually avoid the mall at all costs, but I went today at lunch. And I went to Claire's and Hot Topic and picked up some nail polish.

First up the Hot Topic nail colors. I have seen these on Scrangie's blog - and she makes it look so good, I figured I needed to get me some. None of the colors have any names or bottle numbers.

I got a silver foil finish, black w/ silver glitter, purple glitter, blue glitter and red glitter. These only cost $2.99 each. I am wondering how user friendly these are going to be.

Next up are the Claire's colors. They had alot more choices, but at $4.50 each I wasn't gonna go crazy. I can get china glaze at Sally's for only $3.25 each. When she checked me out though I guess it was buy one get one 50% off, so it ended up costing $3.37 ea. I think their names leave a little to be desired though. Except for the chunky glitter one, I think Slime is a great name!

SLIME is a chunky, teal/green holo glitter filled polish.

YEL is a blue polish loaded with fine holo glitter.

JEN JEN is a lime green polish loaded with fine holo glitter.

GO GREEN is a green polish with medium sized glitter.

The two shots below were taken in sunlight to try and show off the glitter, it was a little hard doing this though since I was in my car waiting in the McDonald's drive thru at the time :)

The Hot Topic colors are fun,
but one thing I would suggest to avoid frustration- (and polish all over your fingers- I know from personal experience!)

Put them into other bottles ASAP!

The little lid that doubles as a handle is very hard to maneuver
and
the long stem only adds insult to injury by glopping on more polish after you've wiped it on the side of the bottle.

The wide mouth of the tall bottle just encourages you to spill while you try to get the brush back in the top.

Save yourself the trouble- I know the skulls are cute- just trust me on this!

Hope this helps!=D

WIXBETTY - Thanks for the tip! I was eyeing those little tiny black lids, wondering how they would work, but you saved me a headache it looks like! My next 8ty8 order I shall order me some empty nail polish bottles - thanks again.

I have the deep blue/purple microglitter one and it's awesome. I wear it over black because it's fairly sheer and I don't want to put on three coats. It's a knockout. But the bottle sucks! Also, the polish is runny, so polish over an old newspaper or something. But the color is fabulous! I'm looking forward to seeing the other ones too.

Slime and Yel look fantastic!
Wish we had Hot Topic in Oz but wow - bad design on those bottles by the sounds of it #B)

I've never been to a Hot Topic, but I looked up locations after I saw swatches of some of these colors. Gorgeous.

I've also got to agree with wixbetty on the brush - the bottle looks almost exactly like the old-style Urban Decay bottle & I just had a hell of a time getting used to the awkward handle when I did my nails Thurs evening.

Awesome haul. I love all the colors you got. I can't wait to see swatches of the Claire's polishes.

The next time I go to the US I'm going to on an insane shopping frenzy!

GLITTER - Thanks for the tips. I am hoping to order some empty bottles soon and transfer these colors to them.

NIXXY - Slime is my fave of the bunch. Looking forward to trying this one out really soon!

COLETTE - Were any in your area? These are so cheap, and looked so good on Scrangies blog I had to get em!

PIXIE - I am sure the US isn't going to know what hit it next time you head out here!

ASAMI - Can't wait to try all of these out and let you all see my swatches.
