NAIL POLISH STEALS

I went to Walgreen's Saturday night with the intent of purchasing only the Bendaroo's my son has been begging me for. As he has told me, which I think the commercial says, we never have to throw bottles away again, we can decorate them with bendaroos.......!!!! However, once there, the nail polish isle called my name. It couldn't hurt to look, right?? Painless, indeed my friends! There on the cosmetics counter was a couple of boxes of clearance items.
I picked Sally Hansen's Arabian Night. A purple nail polish with gold glitter/shimmer. It was stickered at $2.99.

I also picked Revlon's Glimmer Gloss in Blueberry Burst stickered at $2.39. However, when she rang me up, it only came up .39 cents. She said, oh well it was on clearance, I'm not going to change it. YES!!

I also picked up a Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Lightening for $4.99. When she rang this up though, she said she thought these were Buy one Get One, did I want to get another one or get this at half off? Um. I believe I will run and go grab me another one, thank you! So I got Jumpin' Jade!

And of course, I had to check out the Sinful Colors. I saw the most gorgeous dark, pumpkin colored orange with glitter. I have never seen this color from sinful before! It is called Serena and Chloe. What a beaut!

Here they are all tried on, I did two coats, except for the Blueberry Burst, I did three. It is more of a top coat since it was so sheer.

Next, I would like to discuss the shape of the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri bottles and brushes. The bottle are a weird triangle shape, which initially turned me off from getting any of them, until I saw that gorgeous yellow color! I knew I needed that, I don't have any yellow nail polish (that I remember anyway). Then when I tried it on, they have some of the weirdest brushes I have seen. I took a few pics in hopes that you guys could see what I was talking about. The wand is flat and the bristles are shaped so you have to hold the brush a certain way for it to work, which was strange. Here are a few pics:

I'm still out on these brushes. What do you guys think?

Ooohhh! I have Cloe and Serena too! Isn't it absolutely gorgeous, such pretty "light from within" orange flash. It's one of my all time favorites, and it looks gorgeous with your skin tone.

Great haul!

OLGA - Serena and Chloe stained my nail, have you had this happen when you used it? Of course I have my fake nails on, but usually nail polish doesn't stain the way that this one did. Just curious :)

Well i don't remember is S&C stained me but it must've as in my experience red and orange (especially orange) nps tend to stain my nails.

But i've found that if i use a ridge filling base coat it helps reduce the staining.

I'm currently using Orly and i find it protects my nails better than Seche Vite base coat.

OLGA - Thanks for the response back. You know I hardly ever use a base coat because I end up taking my nail polish off the same day. I will usually only do basecoats on my toes, or if I am planning on keeping my nail polish on for a while.
