VALENTINES DAY NAILS - BLACKENED ROSES

Another Valentines mani today - yeeeeaaaaaahhh!! Kind of stuck on the Valentines theme for now. I used Orly Matte Vinyl for the black base and then stamped roses and hearts with cupid arrows with NYC Royal Foil. Loving this! When I showed it to the BF he wanted to know why it looked so dry, lol. I had to inform him it wasn't DRY but MATTE. I decided to put a clear coat over the four nails that I had stamped the hearts with arrows on to shake up the look a little bit. Sorry for the dryness but I couldn't very well oil up my fingers while trying to keep the polish matte looking. This mani is only good for a few hours I would say. The matte starts to get shiny and since it isn't protected I have had some chipping too. But I liked the out come of this one.

The addition of the clear coat on the ring and thumb nails below:

(Look at how perfect that stamp came out!!!! Pats on the back Brooke :)

Wow! I really love this. Pink and red nails aren't really my thing so I am not interested in most Valentine's Day manicures. But this rocks!!!

I really love the foil design against the matte black nail. My fiance doesn't understand matte nails either - he's like 'did you forget to put a top coat on?' - which cracks me up that he even KNOWS what a top coat is! lol

KEEDAH - hey there! I just took a look at your blog and just love it. I know you don't know nails all the time, but since there was at least a mix of nails I'm adding your blog to Monday's NBOTB post :)

BROOKE - (Great name, lol) I was thinking my BF would really dig the matte, since it seems more manly, but like yours did, he thought it looked better with the top coat on it. Of course, I can't blame him, I wasn't (and still not) all the way down with this whole matte thing. :)

Awesome mani. It looks great matte or with a top coat on. My BF wondered why my nails looked like I had wall paint on my nails when I was wearing OPI's Gargantuan Green Grape Matte, silly men lol

JENNXOXO - I know that these NYC polishes were discontinued, but I got mine from Discount Cosmetic Outlet, here is a link to all the foil ones they have: http://www.discountcosmeticoutlet.com/servlet/Categories?category=BEAUTY+%26+FRAGRANCES%3ANail+Care%3ANail+Polish%3ANYC+New+York+Color%3AFoil+Nail+Enamel

Like I said, I ordered mine from there and had no problems at all with my order, they even sent me a bookmark.
