FOIL NAILS UPDATE

First off - THANK YOU!! Wow, you guys never cease to amaze me with your kindness. Yesterday I asked for some help with doing foil nails and you all came through for me. I appreciate it soooo much.

I ordered my foils from Transdesign. (You can find it under Nail Art and then Foils.) Here is my foil primer and foil sealer I ordered and used:

As far as my application techniques. First I painted my nails with the primer and waited for it to "dry" - you let the primer go clear. Then I applied my foils. And like Mary, I did mine backwards at first too, lol! When you use the foil, you place the plain side down on you nails and leave the design side facing you. After I finished applying foil to all my nails then I went and applied the Foil Sealer, which is where I ran into my problems. I did get a suggestion to wait a longer period of time before applying the top coat, so I will give that a shot. But from my searching online, I see this has been a problem for a lot of people, but I haven't seen where anyone has a solution.

SO that's my update so far.

There's something seriously wrong with that sealer. That's my opinion.

Thanks for the update. And I was just looking at TD's site a few days ago wondering whether to buy the foils or not. I just may hold off.

Waiting longer couldn't hurt, and maybe you could try putting a coat of polish under the adhesive like Nihrida does in her tutorial.

Nihrida did you use the same brand of foil/sealer in your tutorial?

@MoLo: I don't have special sealer. I just put regular top coat on my foils...they wrinkled and cracked the foil, but not this much.

Tartofraises got a top coat on her blog today...from the US LA Girl Treatments Quick Dry Top Coat and the sender says it doesn't crackle the foil so much. Hopefully she'll post the results tomorrow.

Thanks for the info on where to get the products. I love the look of it all crinkly, so I placed a big order (found some other stuff I wanted, too, lol!) so much for my no buy. ;)
