LMAO!!

I got an email from Rescue Beauty Lounge with a subject of For VIP's Only - Save up to 40% OFF. So I'm thinking, wow, Ji finally got with the recession and is going to offer her ridiculously priced nail polish at a more affordable price - COOOOOL! Wrong, when I read the email I just had to crack up! I will post the whole thing, but I want to point out my favorite line in the whole thing:

And if you're a real Rescue addict, consider this—get a gift card good for $2,000 worth of services for a scant $1,200. That’s like getting a 40% Bonus this holiday season—can your boss match that? Didn't think so!

LAMO - scant, you say? In whose world is $1200 scant? lol, thanks for the good laughs, Ji, really! And she does even use the recession as her reason for offering these "ridiculously low" prices. . . . . blank stare and a couple of blink blinks added.
Anyway, for those of you interested here is what the rest of her skit, I mean email said:

We're having our own "Black Friday" sale this season and
you won't have to wake up at 4:00 a.m. to take advantage of it.

For one week only, you can save:

20% off 6 Signature Mani/Pedis for just $401.28*
30% off 12 Signature Mani/Pedis for only $702.24
25% off 6 Custom Facials for a mere $587.83
or a whopping 35% off 12 Custom Facials for $1,018.91

And if you're a real Rescue addict, consider this—get a gift card good for $2,000 worth of services for a scant $1,200. That’s like getting a 40% Bonus this holiday season—can your boss match that? Didn't think so!
Think of these savings as a way to recession-proof your beauty rituals for 2010. Or give your Mom, sister or BFF what will hands-down be their favorite present this season. You can even email us or leave a message in "customer comments" on your online order form and we’ll create 6 or 12 individual gift certificates for you to give your friends. Poof! And your holiday shopping list is done.

But we're exclusively offering these special offers to our very very important VIPs. And only from November 24nd, 2009 to December 1st, 2009. It's the first time in 11 years we’ve made such a great offer (and it may not be until 2020 that we offer this again!) It's a time of year for saying thanks, and we’re always grateful for wonderful loyal friends like you.

As ever,
Ji

P.S. Even better—your Gift Certificates will be sent via email for instant gratification and NO shipping fees!
*All prices include NY Service tax of 4.5%

Oh that Ji, she can always crack me up!

I got that email too and my first thought was oh goody I can buy some polish and then I read it and was like WTH? lol

Had the exact same reaction myself--these days when an $8 polish is a splurge, I am obviously not in the same class of people who can afford $1200 (at a discount) for manicures! Haha

Has Ji been hanging out with Deb Lippmann? Inhaled too much of her own nail polish?

OH hey Ji let me just go grab $1200 of my money tree over here. lol

I love crazy rich women!

That is hilariously ridiculous! I wish I had $1200 to spend only on nail polish!

Thank god I wasn't the only one to give that email an evil side eye when I first read it! Yes, sniffing to many nail polish fumes can lead to this!!

Really, Ji? I think Evil Angel's right, she's been hanging out with Deborah Lippmann and has bought into her own hype. To use the word "scant" in front of the number $1200 is just insulting, IMO.

Seriously??!! I think someone is out of touch with the real world! :)

I think that Instead of selling nail polish , they should sell the fumes...^_^ lol

I'm going to rush right there. I know I can use all of those services. I have money growing out back on a lovely money tree. Yep, she's inhaled too many polish fumes. Maybe she thinks the rest of us have also. Sorry, honey your not getting any of my money! Thanks for sharing Brooke!

I'm another person who had the same reaction! I understand that 40% off is a substantial discount in terms of just percentages... but $1,200 should never be described as "scant" regardless!
