A LITTLE DISAPOINTED, IS IT JUST ME??
I really, really, REALLY thought I was just going to fall head over heals for this collection. I expected to have the release date marked on a calendar and have a credit card in one hand ready to order. However, the more pictures of the collection were released, the more un-excited I became. I kept reserving comment until after I saw some actual swatches.
Well, I saw some actual swatches on Vampy Varnish today*** - and my gut feeling was right. I'm NOT excited about these and feel that I could possibly pass on most of them and not lose an ounce of sleep over it either.
My biggest disappointment has to be over Dorothy Who? I guess I was expecting my socks to be knocked off, and they weren't. After so much talk of this color, and myself wanting this color the moment I saw it several months back, even so much so that I asked Jen of Never Too Much Glitter to franken it, it was just "meh, is that IT?" Will I buy Dorthy Who?, yes I am sure I will.
As far as the rest of the collection I can pass on, with the exception of maybe Good Witch?
Also, from the early promo pics I thought that the gold one was actually a yellow after the yellow brick road, nope - it's just a gold!
Anyone else feeling this way about the collection? Is it just me?
*** This is not a reflection on Kelly's swatching, but on the colors themselves! :)

Oh, I dunno :( I still think the set is pretty neat. I like Dorthy Who and Good Witch a lot still.
I only plan on getting C-c-courage and Dorothy Who. I already have Ruby Pumps and I'm going to pass on the rest =)
I only plan to get Dorothy Who? and Good Witch. I already have Ruby Pumps and the others didn't impress me at all.
you are NOT the only one. I think, yes, I will still get dorothy who? and perhaps c-c-courage since some swatches make it look like a very unique blue-purple. and i love gold, but i don't know..... not so excited.
I agree with you, Brooke. I won't be gettin' any of 'em. I have Ruby Pumps I bought as a separate purchase last year, and that one doesn't look as bright as swatches online. The name of the collection is really creative though.
Can't wait for your big news! ;)

I agree Brooke. I dont think I need any of them either, I'm not too overly impressed and dont get what all they hype is about.
I agree with you totally. I expected them to be really amazing and they looks a little boring. I think I'll get Dorothy Who? and the purple one.
I personally am so over glitter right now, but with that said, I'll probably still get a few of these. Definitely Good Witch. Its probably the only one that I'm truly excited for. Now if only removing CG glitters didnt make me want to stab myself in the foot...
Yeah, I have to admit I'm not overly excited by them either. That and the difficulty I have in getting China Glaze here, and their formulas which still sometimes still have form. resin mean I'll pass.
I was disappointed in the whole no green- hello emerald city???? but when I mentioned it to them they said "we have emerald sparkle in the love you snow much collection." If that's the case then I can find my own Ruby Slippers and all the others from other collections right?
I agree, too. None of the polishes stand out to me... sigh.
When I would picture this collection in my head, it was filled with a rainbow of glitter that was as awesome as Ruby Pumps ... and a lot of them just look extra-shimmery, or glass-flecked, and like you said, I'm not overly impressed, let alone head over heels. I will probably get the blue & of course the purple, other than that I'm saving my $$ for polish that I *CRAVE*, not just polish I kinda like.
I don't know if any blogger has the entire original collection, but I would really like to see comparison shots because ChG's own press release says something like "these are very close to the original colors" and I think a lot of the excitement was around these being actually the same colors.
I agree Brooke! They are pretty but I think all the hype created too much expectation.
I imagine I will pass.
I kind of thought the same thing after I saw these polishes swatched on Vampy Varnish. No disrespect meant to Vampy, but I think Scragie's swatches are better. Maybe she used different lighting? I don't know. Some of them appeal to me more after seeing them on Scrangie.
I really really like the purple and the blue, and those are the two I want. I already own Ruby Pumps :)
I feel the same way. I'm pretty underwhelmed by the collection. The only color I really want is Good Witch and possibly CCCourage. I'm with you though, not impressed.
Yep, well spoken Brooke.
They all shout MEH at me, even CCC and DW, and I already have RP, so no need to lemming these at all. Now, on the other hand, all those other glittery beauties they released earlier...
I have Pumps. I love Dorothy and the grape-colour. But frosts and watery silvers/golds/pinks do nothing for me.
So a modified success.
Nothing in the collection is strong enough to make me break my no-buy, regardless of who has swatched them.
I think they are lovely polishes and China Glaze are amazing for listening to their disciples though.
I 100% agree!
I have seen swatches of the original Dorothy Who? and I remember it looking different!
Richer and more cobalt!
I really expected then all to be versions of Ruby Pumps, only Pink, Purple, Blue, ect. And they just aren't! I'm sad!
Maybe I'll just have to franken my own blue and purple that have that gorgeous jelly and matching glitter!
I will probably get Dorothy Who? and C-C-Courage, cause I do like them, they just aren't what I pictured!
I'm not feeling it at all either :( I thought I would, but I'm not...
I also have Ruby Pumps. Since China Glaze already have Emerald Sparkle they could have made a green that looked like the green of the witchs face. I have to see more swatches. I know I won't order the gold since I have plenty of golds.
