Butterfly that is! I used Zoya Miley for the base color of this mani. I was looking at Nail Max and Nail Venus mags yesterday and I was really inspired to do some sort of nail art. After a few trial and errors and getting all of my nail art bits out - I finally had this idea pop into my head.
I used the heart shape nail art bits to make the wings and long, slender gold bits for the body. The long metal bodies came from the Pretty Shiny Things nail art kit (you can get it at Victoria Nail Supply). Then I used gold balls to make the antennae with. On my ring finger I used light pink balls for the antennae and darker pink balls to make the swirl so that it looked like the little butterfly was buzzing around. And of course, since I was looking at Japanese nail art I HAD to take it over the top and add pearls, diamonds and pink gems. I also decorated the butterfly wings using both pink and gold balls.
When I started doing the other hand I really liked the look of just simple butterflies. I really couldn't decide which way I liked them best, so I did each hand different.

Both! vERY VERY PRETTY! oops sorry about the caps lock!
Both styles are lovely. I love how you made the butterflies :)
Normally, I prefer a simpler decoration (which is quite lovely) however in this case I like the one with the extras. It's like there's extra happiness floating around on the nail!
So cute! I love them both, I can't make up my mind
Both are so cute!! I think I like the simpler one better. But, I do like the little pink flutter line on the other. You are so creative!
I like the simple one best :D
They are both cute but I prefer the first version ^^
OMG, I love it so elegant and dainty!
Minimal deco style, totally.
They are both pretty. I also prefer simpler designs though.
Both are cute but I prefer the Minimal deco. That is a lot of work and it turned out great!
So cute! I prefer the minimal one because I think it would drive me crazy to have so much stuff on my nails.
Both stles are lovely but you might as well go over the top with that one IMO.
Very pretty Brooke! Your so talented and creative with your manicures. Love those adorable little butterflies. I can't decide which I like better so I won't! I even like the sheer polish.
They're both so pretty and creative that it's hard to decide...I really like the delicate simplicity of the minimal deco version. I've been enjoying reading your blog posts for a couple of months now and finally found the courage to de-lurk and comment.
love it! came out great! :)
I prefer japanese version, more bright with strass, I love ^^
This mani is very cute :)
I kinda like the minimal style. It shows off the butterflies better. Bananas looks so funny in that picture next to that big guy holding the leash! Love your puppy pics!
