NUBAR - RISQUE REDS COLLECTION

Wow, Nubar has been pumping out the collections lately, haven't they! This is a perfect Valentine's day collection so I don't know why it came out so late. This collection, as the name suggests is all red nail polish. I know red is one of those colors that people either love or hate for some reason. I fall into the LOVE category for reds. I think reds looks great on every skin tone, and it can make you just look so darn sexy! I don't have a release date yet for this collection.

There is a little problem with the names of one of these polishes, I think the paper material I got on them have it named one thing, and the bottle is named another. I thought I had it figured out last night when I did these swatches, but I don't think I do. So you will notice one has both names listed until I get it figured out.

LUSTFUL RED
Perfect color for Valentine's day!! A really nice dark red creme. This only took two coats to be opaque.

SENSUAL RED
A brighter, orangey version of Lustful Red. This is the type of red I think of for old Hollywood. This one was a little bit thinner and harder to control. It also took three coats.

TORRID RED
This is one of those dark around the edges and bright in the middle colors. Reminds me of the colors I used to wear all the time! Great formula, only required two coats.

ENCHANTING RED
Very VERY similar to Torrid Red! This one doesn't have the darkness around the edges like Torrid Red did, other than that, these are almost dupes for each other. Great formula, only two coats for this one too.

SULTRY RED
This is a more red-orange type of red. It has really nice shimmer to it and applied like a dream. Once again, only needing two thin coats!

RISQUE RED OR CABARET RED
Again, very similar to the color before it, Sultry Red. This one is a little less red orange and more red. This has a more defined shimmer to it too. Great formula again, just requiring two coats.

FIERY RED
Wow, I can hardly tell a difference between this color and the one above it. I mean really, almost dupes!! When I uploaded my pictures I had a hard time telling where the color before ended and this one began. There is a slight change with this one being a hair darker. Only two coats were needed for this one as well.

SEDUCTIVE RED
My favorite of the bunch. This color just spoke to me, it has sort of a pinkish purple tint to it that just made it stand out from the collection. This color is just awesome!

Ok, let's talk about this collection as a whole. I think most of the colors are pretty standard. If you are a fan of red, you probably already have something similar to most of these in your collection already. I wish they would have made the colors more different from each other so that they stood out more. I also think that if they would have included more different types of finishes to these they could have stood out quite a bit more. I think that this would be a great collection for someone that sticks to wearing pinks and reds. Don't get me wrong, these colors were all pretty, but like I said, most have been done before. I kind of got a chuckle out of the name of the collection "risque" :)

The formula on these was on par for what Nubar offers. These were extremely opaque with almost all of them only needing two coats. These applied like a dream and dried pretty quick.

I am super pleased that Nubar has been rocking all these collections, and can't wait to see what they will offer up next. I would love to see a collection of blues and teals and turquoises!

This collection was provided to me for review.

I like reds but what is the point of this collection? There isn't anything here I haven't seen squillions of times before.
This is like those crazy they-all-look-the-freakin'-same greys!
Come on, Nubar, do something creative!

Those are some divine reds. They're so pretty I can't decide which one's my fave.

They are very pretty but as you said I'd bet if I looked on my red shelf, I most likely have a dupe of each.

I love reds, so I'll probably pick up a couple of the darker shimmery ones. I'm not really into red cremes though

Seductive Red is cool, but other than that, wth? I mean, they've done color-themed collections before and they were great, with lots of really unique colors. Why on earth did they have to do all boring cremes and shimmers this time? Where's the holos, duochromes and unexpected shades we love Nubar for?

I'm a big fan of Nubar polishes. I think the formula on the cremes is amazing. I still get streaking though on the metallic finishes. But I love the colors so much, I keep buying them!

Love these reds!

We've seen these shades of reds before. They just look so beautiful as a collection. The reds are hard to resist. I have many reds and love a deep blue based red. They all look fantastic on you. I like Nubar polishes and especially the collections they come up with.
