MY STASH CONTEST

Well I made the leap and rearranged my stash last night - no easy feat! I had previously kept my polish by brand in plastic shoe boxes. Last night, with the help of my son (he was good for about 30 minutes tops! lol) I arranged my polish by color.

I also figured, while I had all the shoe boxes out I may as well get a count. So I thought it might be fun to have another little contest going, just for tomorrow though. I am going to post pics up of my stash in their shoe boxes and let you all guess how many nail polishes I have. The one who comes closest will win something - don't know what it will be though until tomorrow.

I know I go on and on and on about the wonderful Kathleen of OC Nail Art - but she deserves every second of it! I was reading Wixbetty's blog WIXOLOGY (a fantastic NP blog, btw) and there was a post on none other than the wonderful Kathleen of OC Nail Art and her two beautiful daughters! APRIL FOOT'S DAY CONTEST

I know alot of you ladies neglect the feets. I too have a tendency to neglect my feet in the winter months myself. But really, why not go ahead and give some of the same treatment you are giving to your hands to your feet as well. You already have all your tools out doing your hands, why not spread the love downward to those poor, sad looking little toes?

Taking care of your feet at home is easy and you can save a bundle by not paying for salon pedicures. I like to get my toes done on occasion at the salon, because sometimes I just don't feel like doing it myself. For a step by step on giving yourself a pedicure, please refer to my earlier post here.


I found a couple of recipe's online for making your own cuticle oil, pedicure lotion and pedicure foot masks.


SUPER DUPER CUTICLE OIL
Maintain healthy nails and encourage growth by using this curicle oil on dry feet weekly.
1 tsp Olive Oil
1 tsp Vitamin E Oil
Store in a sealed container in a cool dry place.


BANANA FOOT LOTION
For heavy duty overnight moisturizing.
2 Banana's
1/4 C Lemon Juice
1/4 C Butter
Mix ingredients. Spread over feet, then cover feet with socks and go to sleep. Rinse the next morning.

AVOCADO MOISTURIZING PEDICURE FOOT MASK
This home spa foot mask is the bomb for heavy duty foot moisturizing.
1/2 Ripe Avocado
1 Tbl Sesame Oil
1 Tbl Plain Yogurt
Combine ingredients and blend until smooth. Massage onto tired toes and leave on for 7-10 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

After I get my feet pampered, a great way to set off my freshly pedicured feet is to wear a cute toe ring. I found some really cute ones at FootCandy - Treats for Feet too! Below is some pics of the ones that really caught my eye. I don't believe any of the ones I picture below cost more than $10 each.

This is a bikini top, and probably one of my faves I saw.





They even sell some pretty expensive ones, like the one I'm showing below. This TOE ring is on SALE for $1,295.00!!! cough! cough! choke!







Another way to dress up your toes is to do a little nail art on them. I recently Konied (used the Konad) my toes, and they were totally cute! Even adding a few jewels or stickers can really set off that great pedicure :)
Steph, from Steph's Closet just did the cutest pedi on her toes by doing something so simple as dotting her nails with a nail art pen.

I really want you ladies to get your feets in order and get them nice and polished up! Stop ignoring your toes and give them a little of the love you lavish on your finger nails. It's spring now and summer is just right around the corner.

NAIL ART CONTEST WINNER

Oh my, this was waaaaaaay harder than I thought it was going to be ladies! Picking a winner was no easy task. I got so many wonderful nail art submissions, that it just made this one tough decision. I had it narrowed down to 2 designs that I really, really liked. It was so close, that I even took that extra day yesterday before making my choice.

I chose Daniele R.'s leaf nails submission. I was really impressed with her creativity! And we all know what a sucker I am for creativity! She made the ends of her nails come to a point like the tip of leaf would. And she also got creative in the fact that she used MAC Aqualine Liquidlast Eyeliner to draw the veins of the leaves on! Last night I used my set of the same colors to show you just how GREAT these look together. Sinful Colors # 198 Irish Green went on pretty sheer, so I decided to paint a white undercoat. I used my new Mac Hello Kitty Vestral White and painted one thin base coat. Then I used the Irish Green and painted a semi-thick coat of that over the white. Then to top it off I used #220 Green Ocean. Green Ocean is such a cool color ladies! It has glitter and flakies in it, which makes for one flashy nail! I topped it all off with a coat of Seche fast drying top coat.

I really could not stop looking at my nails last night. I really, really like this. This is my NOTD, and I have already gotten a compliment from the lady at 7-11, my son's daycare and even one of the guys here at work noticed my nails.

Or, go down to Walgreen's and buy these colors yourself. They are in a special Shamrock Colors display, but hurry! Most of the displays I have seen have almost been emptied. These nail polishes retail for $1.99 ea.

I looked on Sinful's website and I saw neither of these colors listed for sale on there, which leads me to believe that these are a LE (limited edition) release. I have an email into Sinful to find out some more info, so hopefully I will hear back from them.
