MEMORIAL DAY MANI - RED, WHITE & BLUE

Hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. Here is my mani:

Zoya Gaia for the base color, Orly - Royal Navy for the diagonal parts. Then I used a Stripe Right pen in Red Glitter to accent. I topped it all off with Klean Color - Chunky Silver. My ring finger has some star accents on it, but with the chunky silver it might be hard to see.

STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE V-DAY MANI

You guys remember Strawberry Shortcake the doll/cartoon, right? Well that's what this Valentine's Day mani was inspired by. The base color was already reminding me of strawberry milk, and now with the addition of the red dots it really took on little Miss Strawberry Shortcake.

For the base I used PA - Q24 nail polish. Then I added some heart stickers that Jen from Never Too Much Glitter sent to me. These stickers already had the rhinestones stuck on them, but you could easily just use plain heart stickers and add your own stones. Then I used my red glitter nail art pen and added the red dots. I also used the nail art pen to fill in a couple of the heart stickers for more pop in color. For something so simple, I just love this! As you can tell, I really liked it since there are about 100 pictures of it below.

Pictures below were taken outside in shade, this really shows off the silver glitter in the PA polish:

I hope my Valentine's Day inspirations keep coming, I'm having so much fun doing these mani's !!

VALENTINE'S DAY INSPIRED NAILS

I'm already jumping on the Valentine's Day wagon! I still feel that these nails need a little something extra to really make them pop, but not quite sure just what I need just yet. For the base I used Diamond Cosmetics - Angelic for the base. This is my favorite base coat to use for french mani's. I do wish I would have done a third coat of it though to help cover the stains on my nails, but from a regular distance it isn't that noticeable. For the tips I used OPI - Don't Think, Just Pink. And to outline the tips I used a red glitter nail art stripper.

Also, you might notice some bonus pics of my right hand! I ended up not being able to save my nail on my left hand and so I thought I would give it a try on taking pics of my right hand since all the nails are nice and long on that hand. It was a little harder than I thought, so unfortunately there are still some pics containing my shorty middle nail on my left hand. So enjoy :) lol

NOT MY FINEST MOMENT

I like the idea behind this mani, I just can't stand my execution of it. And I am appalled at that stupid bow on my middle finger, lol!! I am going to try and recreate this mani again, this time taking a little bit more patience and time to complete it. There isn't anything majorly wrong with it, but I can see my mistakes and they stick out like a sore thumb to me. Also the bow is one of those things that I just kept adding to in hopes of me liking it better and instead it gets a FAIL.

OH well, it will soon be washed away thanks to acetone and I will have a blank slate to work with. Ahhhh, the joys of painting ones nails.

This weekend I am going to try and do several different french mani variations, since I got that Nailene stuff I kind of have the "french mani" bug.

NOTD - CLEOPATRA OF THE ORIENT

Regal sounding name for my NOTD, eh? NICOLE just had to go and show China Glaze - Cleopatra on her blog the other day. I had passed it by the first time, but after seeing it on her blog, I just knew I needed to have it in my glitter arsenal. Boy am I glad I got it too! Look at how pretty this baby is! Don't you just love those purple blue looking twinkles of glitter? I do.

Last night I just had my base coat, glitter tips and red pin stripe line. I thought it looked unfinished, but I couldn't think of anything that would go with the red and gold I used that wouldn't look too Christmasey. Then last night in bed it hit me! So this morning I stamped my nails before work, and yes this is an addiction! Anything that requires me to do anything other than get ready in the morning doesn't bode well, except nail polish I guess :)

I really, really love this mani for some reason! I keep looking down at my nails and exclaiming what a good job I did, and Oh, damn, this looks good, you know things along that nature. Ha Ha , I even made my son come in and tell me something nice about my nails, I told him it was part of his homework, lol. I took a TON of pics since I just love this one so much :)

And the best prop of the day - Oliver's hand!!
