NOTD . . . FRANKEN - TWENTY TEN

This is my NOTD. Finally almost a FULL YEAR after Kae sending me this I am trying it! I know, I'm a bad person!! Kae from THE HUNGRY ASIAN made this and another franken for me last year around Christmas time and while going through and trying to get all my untrieds lumped into one place I came across the two frankens she sent me.

She named this one Twenty Ten, I think for New Years that was right around the corner, see like I said - almost a year later (hanging head in shame!). The base of this polish was kind of a sheer black color and her note she sent with it said I needed three coats, so in order to speed the process along a little bit I did a base coat and only 2 coats of the glitter bomb Twenty Ten.

The nurse at my son's doctors appointment oooohed and aaahhhed over this and asked if it was the new Christmas color that just came out, lol! Little did she know this was last years color (again: head. . . hang . . . shame . . . ).

GIFTS FROM KRISTINA

A while back Kristina of GLAMOUR GAL contacted me and told me of a huge stash of Maybelline polishes she found at her local Dollar Tree. I, of course, said YES, get them all! lol We were going to swap but since she didn't have anything particular in mind I just sent her the money by paypal.

Not only was she kind enough to go pick them up for me, package them up and mail them, she included a ton of extras!!

I know you Maybelline fanatics like me probably clicked on that picture to get a closer look at which ones are in that box, didn't ya?? There is also a handful of LA Colors that aren't shown in the picture that she sent to me too.

But I was SUPER excited when I saw she had sent to me the Milani Collection:

I had been eyeballing these on other blogs, but I knew I would never fork over the money for this collection. I can't believe that she DID fork it over, thank you SOOOOOO much! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your kindness for this, you are awesome girl! I will have swatches of this collection coming up today.

I also want to apologize for how long it took me to get this post up! Right when the package came I was in the middle of dealing with my tire situation and I was super side tracked with that. I also didn't want to rush out a quick post, sent you took your time and was so generous with my package. I hope you understand my reasons and know that in no way was I being unappreciative of your kindness and efforts! Seriously, THANK YOU!

WOOOOT!! I just got these in a swap I did with Jeanette at THE SWATCHAHOLIC! This haul has me singing Jealous of my Boogie ya'll!!! Thank you soooo much! I wasn't expecting alllll of these goodies she sent and I can't wait to try them all out and show off....I mean show you all.

GARAGE SALE FINDS

My mom and I hit up some garage sales this weekend. I, in search of nail polish, her in search of yet another basket (lol!). At our second garage I ended up meeting a couple of really great gals! They had no polish for sale, but one ran inside to see if she had any to give me! She came out with one lone bottle of OPI - Bubble Bath. This is a color I almost ordered and decided against - the polish gods work in mysterious ways I tell ya. I ended up talking to Leslie about blogging and she told me she had just started one. So you guys might like to take a look at it, she is new but it appears to be about little uplifting stories about people she has in her life. Her blog is called WHO REALLY CARES? GREAT CAMERA TUTORIAL

Mornin' gals! Just wanted to bring your attention to a really great blog post (well two, actually) I read from a fellow nail polish blogger. It was how to use your camera's settings to get color accurate photos.

Since I got my camera (Canon PowerShot SX110is, pictured) over a year ago, I haven't really figured out how to do all that my camera is capable of. Not to mention the fact that several times I must try to find a picture on the Internet to portray the actual color of a nail polish I am trying to photograph. I know I'm not the only one of us bloggers with this problem and I found these posts to be super helpful.

NAIL POLISH CELL PHONE CHARMS

How cute is this??? Fellow nail polish blogger Viki (A DAY IN THE LIFE OF DOLLFACE) made this for me at my request - and it couldn't have turned out any cuter!


Everything came so neatly and cutely packaged!




I can't WAIT to whip out my phone - nail polish bottles just a swanggin'!! Viki has opened up her own Etsy shop to sell these - so head on over and take a look. Thanks Viki - I LOVE IT!!

THE HUNGRY ASIAN ROCKS MY WORLD!

Kae aka The Hungry Asian surprised me with a package of goodies!! What an awesome surprise :) Everything was covered in little notes written on Hello Kitty note paper, and cute stickers were stuck on everything. I was able to re-stick one of the Hello Kitty stickers on my phone - recycling rocks!!

GOODIES GALORE!!

My sister from another mister (Christy of Kronicles of a Konader) sent me a wonderful package the other day, and I wanted to share it all with you. The package was just brimming with goodness I tell you, GOODNESS!!


How she was able to send me 10 polishes and not send me a single one that I already own is a mystery to me! If she didn't live so far from me I would think that she had been snooping around my stash!!





She even included three frankens she did. Awesome job there girly!! I can't wait to try them all out and hope to get some pics up soon.


She included a TON of candy! And by ton I mean like at least 3 lbs worth! I didn't snap a picture of all of it, I didn't want any getting a cavity at my expense. I did have to snap a pic of this super cute marshmallow cupcake on a stick though! I can not confirm nor deny if this is still in existence or IN MY BELLY!!


Why oh why did you send these to me? I can't stop eating them! When I gave the bf one and saw his eyes light up shortly after popping it in his mouth, I knew I needed to find a very safe hiding place for these if I ever wanted to taste another one again. Really ladies, if you haven't tried these you really need to.


Awwwwwwe! A sweater for sweet Dinky!! This came just in time for the horrible ice and snow we had too!


There was also a guitar hero game for Little, but as you can see he quickly scurried it off to his room! Thanks so much sister! YOU ROCK!!!!
