I'm sure most of you have heard about the TV Guide Networks new show, Nail Files. It follows Katie Cazorla and her unpredictable life as a blonde bombshell business owner of the nail salon The Painted Nail.
When I first heard about this show I was excited, a show about a nail polish salon, I'm IN! Then I realized I didn't have TV Guide Network and was a little bummed. So when the show premiered I asked around on facebook for other nail polish bloggers thoughts. Most really seemed to like it. I did however, catch about a 2 minute clip of the show and I have to say, I was turned off.
Since then I have watched the first full episode and I have to say my opinion changed. The show was actually cute and even funny in some parts. I found myself laughing a couple of times during the episode. Katie is one of those people that seems like she stays in hyper over drive though.
Below I have two nail polishes from The Painted Nail. The polishes are made by Nubar, so you know the quality is good. Since she has several celebs that come to her salon, she will sometimes ask them to name a polish for her, which I think is pretty awesome. On the website, it will usually say if a celeb named a certain polish. The polishes are a bit more expensive than Nubars, at $12.50 each. They can be purchased HERE.
SILVER SCREENED
Named by Hilary and Haylie Duff
This polish is a sheer, light pink sugary color. It looked frosty in the bottle, but didn't come out frosty on the nail. It gave my nails a nice, clean sugar glazed look. This is three coats though, so the color isn't buildable at all.
KATIE SPARKLES
I assume named after Katie Cazorla. I really liked this one, go figure! This is a round silver glitter in a clear base polish. The silver is super sparkly. I am wearing three coats for the swatches. While you can see it doesn't completely cover the nail, it is so sparkly though you can't tell.

I've seen the (4?) episodes they've aired and I go away each time wondering if I liked it or not. LOL I love her and Walter's relationship - they're so cute together! There's so much drama in her shop, but it looks like a great place to visit. Silver Screened reminds me a lot of ChG Whitecap.
I don't have that channel either --darn!
Silver Screened looks like sugary goodness but I really like Katie Sparkles also (:
I dont' have the channel either;;
They look great! I like the 1st one althought it's not so unique.
thanks for the swatches!
I watched 2 episodes and I'm not sure if I'm going to bother watching the rest. I really want more focus on her shop. I doubt that will happen. The polishes look like others I've seen. They're pretty but I won't be buying them.
I love the silver glitter :)

Sadly, I do not get that channel & I'm bummed. However I would like to try a couple of their polishes. I'm so glad you reviewed them.

i love katie sparkled its gorgeous!
shel xx
These both look fabulous on your hands, I love silver screened! Katie has a ton of energy, way more than an average human..LOL! I love the show!
I think I'd watch this if I had access to it, mostly because its all the fun drama of the Inks (Miami, NY, etc) but it involves something I actually DO...I love the show inspired Nubars I've seen, and I think I may be treating myself to a couple of them soon.
Pretty shades! I do get the TV Guide Channel - but since they moved the line up I have no idea off hand what channel it's on and it's not in the middle of ones I normally scan through. I did catch one of the TV shows and thought it was OK - kind of typical of the LA reality scene TV shows. If I could remember when it was on and the channel I would watch it more. We used to have the TV Guide channel with the 'roll' of what was on what channel...now that's gone so I don't seem to ever find it anymore.
