HO HUM FRIDAY

Well it is Friday all ready and I have nothing planned for today :( Last night was my bf's birthday, so that really left no nail time - so blame him for the lack of posts today. We had a wonderful crab leg feast that my mom graciously paid for. Came home and had cake and that was about it. Hopefully something will turn up today I can post about . . . .

Going to go by Sally's at lunch and see if I can pick up a bottle of the new China Glaze Matte polish. I really want to try and matte the gun mani and see what it looks like - so keep your fingers crossed that they have it in stock. Plus I just got my 15% coupon for Sally's so you know that is burning a hole in my pocket, lol.

Maybe I will try and get a post together of some of my past favorite NOTD's and konads, what do ya think ladies?????

SHOT THROUGH THE HEART . . .

and you're to blame,
you give love,
a bad name!

LOL Once I got started I couldn't quit. My NOTD is one that my son just loved - - it has guns on it. He has had a runny nose and he was blowing it this morning and he said it sounded like a machine gun, lmao! SO we have just had an all around "guns" kinda day :)

UPDATE::

I used konad plate # S05
I get all my konad supplies from OC Nail Art, see the left side of my blog for a link and a coupon code to get 30% off your order :)

Guess what he died of. . . . .gunshot to the head, lol.....

DIAMOND COSMETICS - HOLIDAY COLLECTION

It's been a Diamond day, hasn't it?? I just have a little news for you all about the upcoming Holiday collection that Diamond Cosmetics will be offering.

There are going to be Four shades and guess what?! They will all be glitter!!! Yipee!! Marissa, with DC, was kind enough to give us a preview of two of the shades that will be coming out. She just took a quick pic of them swatched on her hands. Thanks for the juicy bits Marissa! I can't wait to see what the other two colors are going to be!!

DIAMOND COSMETICS - MATTE COLLECTION

Diamond Cosmetics has released four new Matte shades. I was given the opportunity to review these and I must say I was pretty happy with them. They released a black, burgundy, pink and grey.

Let's take a look, shall we? The last pictures of each are shown with a coat of top coat to see what they look like.

MATTE BLACK - 2 coats
This was pretty easy to apply. Matte's do tend to be a little bit on the thicker side, so you do have to apply a little bit more carefully than normal. This was really opaque, using the second coat to smooth it all out and make it look nice.

MATTE BURGUNDY - 2 coats
This color was my favorite of the bunch. This was the hardest one to apply though. I had a hard time controlling the polish with this one for some reason. As you can see in my swatch it got a little messy. Also, something weird happened on my middle finger, it is like there is a big sink hole! I don't know what I did, and I am assuming it was user error since it didn't happen on any of the other fingers. All that said, this was my pick of the four for the best one.

MATTE MULBERRY - 2 coats
I love that they added a bright to this collection. This was my second favorite color. I had no application issues with this one at all. I do think this one might could have used three coats to really smooth it out and thicken it up a little bit.

MATTE SMOKE - 2 coats
I wanted to like this color, but I just didn't. I just am not down with the whole grey trend. This applied nicely just like the others and "matted" up just fine.

All in all I think DC turned out a pretty good Matte collection. I think this would be perfect for someone not sure about mattes, because unlike the matte top coats, you can always continue to use these colors just with a top coat if you don't like the matte effect. These, like most of their polish, sells for only $2! You can order yours direct from Diamond Cosmetics HERE.

DC also has a few sales going on right now, including the whole matte collection. Take a look below - these deals are only good for a limited time!

HAMBURGER FROM HEAVEN

So I'm watching Man V Food last night and he is doing the show on food found in baseball parks. And I hear about a burger made with Krsipy Kreme donuts and I am thinking - ooooo nasty! Until I see them making it and I start thinking - that actually sounds really goooood. I think I need to make me one of these babies in the near future!

It is a hamburger patty, a slice of sharp cheddar cheese & bacon. Then you cut the donut in half and use it like a bun!!!!!

HEAVEN!!!!!!!

Has anyone tried this? I need to know what you think about it!!

DIAMOND COSMETICS WINTER 09 COLLECTION

Good morning all! Happy first day of October - I can officially start celebrating Halloween and not feel guilty about it :) So today I have Diamond Cosmetics Winter collection for you. I was going to try and get sunshine pics for you all but, I just couldn't wait! So hopefully I will get some of those this weekend, but for now take a look at the ones I did get.

SMOKEY ROSE - 3 coats
This is actually much lighter in color in person. I am hoping to get a more color accurate shot of it for you all real soon. The formula was really, really nice with this. I would say that 98% of the polish I get from Diamond Cosmetics is really nice, formula wise, with just an occasional bottle of one that is on the thick side.

MULBERRY MAYHEM - 3 coats
I just LOVE colors like this! So bright and creamy and shiny. Diamond Cosmetics formula was perfect on this! You can see how nicely this applied.

CRUSHED VELVET - 3 coats
Another one that is not color accurate! Part of the problem with this one is, is that it is a purple and those never photograph right for me. This is a dark plum colored purple. Gonna try and get a better pic of this one too. The formula on this one was a little thick, but nothing to hard to use.

CHERRY TOBACCO - 3 coats
This was the one that spoke to me from the start. Not only do I think the name is so fitting for this, but the color is just beautiful! This color was perfect in my opinion, I wouldn't change anything about it. LOVE IT!

As I have said before, Diamond Cosmetics is killing it! They have so much going for them

*Great, reliable formula
*Wonderful, personable customer service
*Great Product
*Keeping up with "the big guys" by coming out with collections
*Unbeatable price - $2.00 a bottle!!

What more could you ask for in a nail polish? OH, I know, how about some glitters and holo's??? Hey, a girl can ask, can't she???

**UPDATE::
These are supposed to be available today, October 1st. Their web designer is currently working on getting them on the website, so check the website soon :)
