NUBAR SPARKLES - SWATCHES

Today I am giving you all a glimpse at the super cool glitter release from Nubar. The Sparkles collection is their Spring 2010 offering and I am super pleased. Although I did have a great idea, with pastels being a trend for spring, wouldn't a pastel glitter collection rock our worlds? A pastel yellow or peach glitter, don't think I have ever seen such a thing, but think it would be awesome.

On to the swatches:

(All pics show three coats used, except for one, Sky Sparkles has four coats)

STAR SPARKLES
Super duper gorgeous!! I love this polish with a passion. This is really pretty silver and holo glitter nail polish. You can't go wrong with this. This is nice and thick and pretty opaque, so I don't think it would work really well as a top coat.

FIRE SPARKLES
I know what you are thinking, another red glitter. I was too, until I used it. This is one of the nicest OPAQUE red glitter polishes I have used. Usually I have to use a base coat of red under my red glitter polishes, this one doesn't need one. Perfection!

NIGHT SPARKLES
Whoooohoooo baby is this one pretty! I kept thinking this is what Dorothy Who? should have looked like. It is a bit darker on the nail than these pictures show though, but I really like that. This was really pigmented and I can see this one causing a bit of staining, so make sure and use a nice base coat with this one.

SKY SPARKLES
This one was a disappointment for me. I had to use 4 coats and I still don't think it is enough, and I don't know that 5 would get full nail coverage. I wish that they would have had more base color with this one, like they did with most of this collection, but they didn't and that is why this one falls short.

MEADOW SPARKLES
Very nice light green glitter. An unexpected color for glitter, but I really like it. I am thinking this could be a dupe for the green glitter that came in Color Club's Christmas glitter collection, they look very similar.

VIOLET SPARKLES
Boy did I have a hard time trying to capture the actual color of this. I think Nubar did too, because their promo pics don't even show the actual color. I found this:

which is a much more accurate picture of this color. Damn, I love this polish. It is what I would call a royal purple but it has this almost magenta flash of color to it. A must have from this collection.

PETUNIA SPARKLES
MY NEW FAVORITE NAIL POLISH! OMG, I am in LOVE with this color. Unfortunately, once again, I couldn't capture the actual color, so I found this:

which is a much truer representation of this bad boy. This is a notice me color, but yet it isn't a "loud" notice me color. I can't even find the right words to describe this one, other than perfection. Nubar hit it out of the park with this one, in my opinion. Not only does this color rock, but it just looks amazing on my nails. This one won't be coming off this entire weekend - - - by choice!!!

HYACINTH SPARKLES
This one is a very light, spring colored purple. Very appropriate for a Spring collection. I liked this one, but it didn't wow or amaze me like most of the others from this collection. I do like it though, and will be wearing it come spring time.

OVERALL OPINION
This isn't a collection to sleep on girls! These are all really nicely done glitters (Sky Sparkles, you are just OK, though). I was so pleased to see that these glitters were opaque. I also like that they used a nice, small sized glitter for these. These will still need at least two coats of top coat to alleviate any of the gritty feeling you get with glitters. Awesome job Nubar, well played!!

Hmmm I actually am not that into any of these. The green is definitely almost a dupe of the Color Club one, and the others, IDK. Not sure what my problem is.

They all are beautiful glitters. I especially like Night Sparkles, Petunia and Hyacinth Sparkles. The rest I believe I have by Color Club. I'll wait fo awhile before I buy the three I like. I don't want to jump on them and find out later there are dupes for them. Glitters are so exciting. Your nails look gorgeous also! That red sure is pretty. Darn, now I want that. I do have two bottle of Color Clubs red glitter.

Okay, I'll bite- which one is the broken nail? They all look absolutely perfect to me. You did a great job fixing it!
I am loving Night Sparkles, and agreeing with you completely about NS vs. Dorothy Who? I'm sad I spent $ on DW?, because I'd rather have this. I think Fire Sparkles is pretty wonderful, too. Nubar just rocks.
