BLUE LAGOON

I did a sponge gradient using blues and greens.  I LOVED the sponge gradient, but after that it kind of went downhill.  This is one of those mani's that I had great idea's in my head, but they never really happened on the nails.  I'm gonna re-do the sponge gradient and just take pics of that, because I really liked that.  I wish I would have done the flowers in white instead of gold too.  So much I would change about this mani, lol.  Anyway - on to the pics!

For the sponge gradient I used Nubar - Blue Raspberry, Diamond Cosmetics - Magens Bay Blue & P2 Color Victim - artful.  Then to stamp I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Brisk Blue and China Glaze - Passion.

Shany Cosmetics - SH 222

SUGARY PINK FEATHERS

I bet y'all thought I abandoned you again, lol! Nope, I'm still hanging with it. Of course right when I decide to make a come back I have something HUGE happen in my life. So, I'm doing a little bit of juggling that right now and trying to get back into the swing of blogging - so bear with me girls ;)

I really loved this soft pink look of this mani I did! The colors I picked worked really well together and I kept this on for several days. For the base I used Nubar Strawberry from their Jelly beans collection. I LOVE the finish of this polish, it has a slight jelly finish to it, I think it really resembles the look of a jelly bean. Then I applied a coat of Misa Candy Girl, a shimmery sugary pink glitter top coat. I then stamped using China Glaze Joy. Wouldn't you know I forgot what stamping plate I used! I'm pretty sure it is a bundle monster one though.

IT WAS ALL A DREAM

I'm not saying Im "back" back, but I'm gonna give it a shot. I know I disappeared, for almost a year!! And those who follow me on facebook should know some of the reasons why I left. But to put it in the simplest terms - all the joy of blogging was gone and it turned into all work and no play.

Sooooo, I'm gonna give this a go again but under MY terms. I really wanna get back to what made me want to start blogging in the first place - a love of painting my nails and doing nail art. I think I got a little too wrapped up in product reviews and having to post all the new collections and all the new stuff first, and honestly that isn't what motivates me, nail art and painting my nails is what does. I'm not saying I won't do any reviews in the future, but they will be few and far between or done on a collection that I just really love!

These pictures were of a mani I did last night. I couldn't quite capture it with my phone so I busted out my real camera and it just brought back some good old blogging memories. So here we go ladies!!

I used Nubar Swiss Chocolate. For the accent nails I used a bright pink base color and then covered those babies in LA Splash loose glitter.

THE NAIL FILES SHOW & SWATCHES

I'm sure most of you have heard about the TV Guide Networks new show, Nail Files. It follows Katie Cazorla and her unpredictable life as a blonde bombshell business owner of the nail salon The Painted Nail.

When I first heard about this show I was excited, a show about a nail polish salon, I'm IN! Then I realized I didn't have TV Guide Network and was a little bummed. So when the show premiered I asked around on facebook for other nail polish bloggers thoughts. Most really seemed to like it. I did however, catch about a 2 minute clip of the show and I have to say, I was turned off.

Since then I have watched the first full episode and I have to say my opinion changed. The show was actually cute and even funny in some parts. I found myself laughing a couple of times during the episode. Katie is one of those people that seems like she stays in hyper over drive though.

Below I have two nail polishes from The Painted Nail. The polishes are made by Nubar, so you know the quality is good. Since she has several celebs that come to her salon, she will sometimes ask them to name a polish for her, which I think is pretty awesome. On the website, it will usually say if a celeb named a certain polish. The polishes are a bit more expensive than Nubars, at $12.50 each. They can be purchased HERE.

SILVER SCREENED
Named by Hilary and Haylie Duff
This polish is a sheer, light pink sugary color. It looked frosty in the bottle, but didn't come out frosty on the nail. It gave my nails a nice, clean sugar glazed look. This is three coats though, so the color isn't buildable at all.

KATIE SPARKLES
I assume named after Katie Cazorla. I really liked this one, go figure! This is a round silver glitter in a clear base polish. The silver is super sparkly. I am wearing three coats for the swatches. While you can see it doesn't completely cover the nail, it is so sparkly though you can't tell.

NOTD - NUBAR HYACINTH SPARKLE

How pretty is this? This is a light purple super blinged out polish! Hyacinth Sparkle is from Nubar's Sparkles Collection that came out last year. It has been my favorite collection from Nubar - glitters done how glitters should be done.

Not that it really needed, but for extra bling I added a top coat of Color Club Starry. Starry just gives it that really subtle almost diamond like sparkle, with flashes of green and blue glinting off of this beauty.

I might need to make me some t-shirts that warn people from looking directly at my nails in full sunlight :)

***EDIT***

I just had to add a video of this baby sparkling out in the sun :)

CRACKED EASTER EGGS

I'm calling it cracked Easter eggs because the base colors I used are all pastel and Eastery looking :) I used the pastels from Nubar's new spring collection and then applied a layer of China Glaze crackle glaze in Cracked Concrete.

This was the last mani I did on Saturday and it is still holding up well. No chips or anything.
