WHEN I SAY BOOMER!

You say SOONER!! Ok, got it ladies?? It's time for FOOTBALL again, yes!! I am a HUGE Oklahoma University football fanatic. I love my Sooners. This Saturday is our first game of the season, so I decided to do a OU themed mani.

I bought a special OU nail polish kit online last year and had not used it yet, so I decided to break it out. I have to say the kit was a major disappointment.

First off, our colors are crimson and cream. The colors that came in the kit are red and white. Not that big of a deal, so I didn't think much of it when I got the kit in the mail last spring.

Second, I don't expect a real quality of nail polish, but I DO expect the brushes to not be bent. It's like the brush is way to long for the size of the bottle, it was a major headache to use. If I didn't get a daily exercise of applying polish 2-3 times a day, I don't know that could have pulled it off. They were THAT bent.

Third problem, the kit included a set of OU logo nail stickers. I painted all fingers red, except the ring fingers I painted white and planned on putting a logo sticker on each ring finger. I could tell as soon as I tried to take the sticker off, the plastic was was to thick and unbendable. How the heck is this supposed to stick on a rounded nail if it doesn't want to bend. I gave it a shot anyway, and sure enough I was right, the sides stuck up. I ended up taking a nail art pen and hand painting the OU logo on my nail.

All that said, it was a great idea but they didn't execute it well at all. All in all I'm pleased with how my OU mani turned out and have even gotten a few compliments on it. So, please enjoy and
GOOOOOOOOOO SOOONERS!!

OU NAIL POLISH IS HERE, ALREADY!!!

This is my nail polish I ordered just the other day from Get Ready Girls, can you believe it is already here? I was very pleased to find out that the crimson nail polish is actually crimson, the picture on their website made it look like a dark pink. Which speaking of pink I have to let you all know about a serious pet peeve of mine, if you don't want to hear it skip to the next paragraph, lol. I can't stand pink football stuff. I know companies are trying to get girls to buy their stuff, but OU's colors are CRIMSON AND CREAM it is not PINK AND WHITE! Grrr, that aggravates me to no end! I could go on, but I will stop there.
(No comment about our men's basketball loss last night to our in state rival, other than you played your hearts out! You had a great season.)

Anywho - I am pleased with my nail polish. I can see some good konading coming from these two colors come football season! At first I was a little disappointed that the OU logo was not on the bottles. But after further inspection, the little case has OU printed on the back and an OU sticker on the front. Great job Get Ready Girls! THIS is how you promote football products to women - not by drowning everything in PINK!!

OU FOOTBALL GOODIES

ATTN: SASHA!!!!!

Most of you know I am an OU - Oklahoma University - Boomer Sooner Football Die hard fan - right? Right! So I wanted to show you a couple of OU goodies I got and what I am getting!!

While in the Oklahoma airport I saw the cutest messenger bag made out of a OU football jersey! Are you kidding me?! Of course I had to swoop in and snatch me up one! Just look at how cute this is:

Totally cute, huh! I found a little tag on the bag that had a website called Get Ready Girls. I checked it out and found all kinds of cute stuff for girls that like football. All you have to do is look up your school of choice and they show all the products that they have with your schools logo on it. The best part though - - - they sell nail polish in your school's colors and with the logo on the bottles!!!!! This is what they show:

OU's colors are CRIMSON and CREAM, these look neither Crimson nor Cream, but hey for $9.00 I will pay for these since they will have the OU logo on them! I can't wait!

In addition to the bags they sell, they also sell eye color and lip color in your schools colors. They even have some shoes too.

Here is a link to the website.

BCS RANKED #1 OU SOONERS!! (Take THAT Texas!)

Totally not nail related, but this IS Brooke related. I am a HUGE OU Sooners football fan, and by huge I mean GIGANTIC! I bleed Crimson and Cream - yes it's that serious!

As usual the Sooners have had an uphill battle gaining respect from just about everyone for our placement in the rankings. Despite much (IE huge, ungodly amounts) controversy the #2 ranked OU Sooners played ranked #20 Missouri Tigers for the Big 12 Championship Title. We not only kicked that ass, but we beat a record! We scored 60 points or more in 5 **FIVE** consecutive games. A record not held by any other school in history! And for some that still isn't enough for haters (yes I just used that word) to shut their mouths.

SOONERS POSE AFTER THE BIG 12 WIN OVER MISSOURI

SAM BRADFORD HIGH FIVING FANS AFTER THE WIN SATURDAY NIGHT OVER MISSOURI! THIS QB WILL BE AN OKLAHOMA LEGEND!
But guess what, you won't rain on our parade as we, now ranked #1 OU Sooners play, now #2 ranked, Florida Gators for the National Championship!

It's been a long road Sooners, but we did it! What a great season this has been, and a national title would just be the cherry on top!

BOB STOOPS - HEAD COACH OF THE OKLAHOMA SOONERS

I also have to give a shout out to MY favorite player, Lendy Holmes! This is his SR. year and I would love for him to go out with a bang! Go #11!!! He is under rated in my opinion and makes huge plays that change the outcome of the game, not to mention the interception he got Saturday night against Missouri that helped us achieve our 60 plus points in 5 consecutive games!

BEAT TEXAS PARTY

Well our Beat Texas / Bevo Bash is kicking off here at work and I just had to share these pics with you guys. I made it a food contest this year and I got some pretty great entries.

First up is mine!! I made little Cupcake Bites, I got the idea from Bakerella. And I arranged them on a football field. All of those little toothpick letters were hand made using candy melts. Very time consuming, but it turned out to be worth it, I think.

And of course, I had to do some of the other team.......

We also had a meat loaf shaped like Bevo (Texas' Mascot).

I work in the oilfield industry, and we sell and work on Pump Pressure Gauges, and this cake is shaped like one of our pressure gauges

An there were some really cute napkins made to look like football jerseys that you can find online here.

Anyway, I promise to get some posts up that are nail related, but I have been working so damn hard on this party and everything turned out so cute, I just had to show you guys!

BOOMER SOONER!

This weekend is one of the most awaited weekends in all of the state of Oklahoma and Texas. This Saturday at 11:00 am the best college sports rivalry football game will kick off. In addition to loving all things finger nail related, I must confess I am a HUGE college football fan. And this year my Oklahoma Sooners are ranked #1 in the nation, with the Texas Shorthorns (Longhorns) ranked at #5, which should make for a very good game! ESPN Gameday will be at the game this weekend, TOO!

The OU/Texas game takes place at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas Texas, smack dab right in the middle of the Texas State Fair that is in full swing. Half of the stadium seats are sold to Texas fans and half of the stadium seats are sold to OU fans, the cotton bowl is literally cut in half, one side is orange and one side is red. The picture I posted above shows the OU/Texas game, and the arrow is pointing out the split right down the middle of orange and red. It is a great game and I am fired up. Going to one of these games is such a great experience, of which I have had the opportunity to go to about 3 of.

Anyway, I am HOPING to be able to Friday night, apply some artificial nails and do an Oklahoma Sooners nail art design. If so, then I will be able to post some pics of it for you. Our team colors are crimson and cream, so those will be the main colors I use. I am in the middle of planning our Beat Texas party at work for Friday, so I have been busy at home getting things ready for that. We are having a contest and I am planning on entering in some mini cupcakes I am making, so I will definitely post some pictures of that too for you guys.
