PURPLE AND GLITTER STRIPES

Wow....been a busy week for me.  First I have nail stuff and then I have some puppy pics to share :)

First up is a simple design I did.  I used J brand nail polish in Vivid Purple-----ya'll should know by know purples almost never photograph the correct color and this was no exception.  It's more of a bright, neon purple than the shade shown in the pics.  For the glitter I used Finger Paints - Stargazing Lilac.  I just used regular old tape that I cut into little strips to do the stripes.

Next, I wanted to share some pics of our new baby.  We picked her out when she was only about 3 weeks old - so it's been an eternity waiting for her to get old enough for her to come home.  No name yet, still working on it.  She is a red boston terrier.  I just got her yesterday but she is already fitting in nice at home with everyone.

PURPLE SHORTIES :(

Well, as you can see, I had to cut my nails last night.  They just kept breaking.  Not sure what is the problem.  I even went back to using some Barielle treatments that I've used in the past that worked for me, but this time not so much.  As you can see from how short they are, I had one break pretty bad.  Thinking about taking Biotin to help with my nail situation.

I always feel less inspired when I have shorties to work with, but this turned out pretty good.  I used OPI - Push and Pur-Pull from the new summer neons collection.  Then I added 2 coats of Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy - Orbit (the flaky glitter side).  I then stamped using Konad Special Polish in white and Bundle Monster plate # 319.  Then to tone the white down a little bit I used OPI sheer tint in purple over the top (my new favorite trick I like to do), it always takes that stark whiteness away and leaves a more color flowing mani I think.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

'MURICA! HECK YEAH!!

This didn't start out as a red. white & blue mani, but it kinda turned in to one.  What's crazy is the "red" part was actually done using pinks.  I guess the pinks next to the blue had more of a red shade to them or something, because I just instantly thought patriotic mani.

For the speckle nails I used Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots in Blue Marks the Spot and Pretty in Polka.  For the texture nails I used China Glaze Texture in Of Coarse and Itty, Bitty & Gritty.  I did a sponge gradient using the same two colors on my thumbs.

I then stamped my nails using konad special polish in white and two Mo-You London plates.  One from the Time Travellers Back to the 70's plate #03 and Pro XL plate # 01.

PINK LEMONADE

Hello!  First off, sorry for no posts this week so far, my little girl has been sick and that has left literally no time for nail stuff.  She got hand, foot, mouth disease and we have been dealing with that all weekend and up through yesterday.  It's been painful for her, but it's finally run it's course and she is well on her way to feeling like her old self again.

When I painted my base colors I was getting a pink lemonade vibe with this.  I really liked it.  Once I added the stamp though I was getting a cheap leopard print costume vibe, lol.  It's still cute and summery, and I love pink and yellow together.  Yellow isn't one of the colors I use very much, but this shade looked pretty good with my skin tone.  I did use a white base under neath both of these colors in hopes of really getting them to POP!

I used OPI - Hotter Than You Pink from the new summer neons collection.  The yellow is Loreal - Bananarama Love.  Then I used J brand nail polish in Snow Red.  Lastly, I stamped a leopard print design (my go to black Kleancolor #05 black) using Mo-You London Time Traveller 80's Collection plate # 04.

LOVE 'N' LACE

This didn't turn out exactly how I pictured, but I still like it.  From a normal distance this looks ok, but in my up close pics, I can see all the smudges and places where polish didn't transfer as cleanly as I like.

For the base I used OPI - Don't Bosa Nova Me Around (my favorite nude to use) and then on my accent finger I used Milani Texture (more on that in a minute)  - Tainted In Red.  I stamped using the new Mo-You London Bridal collection plates.  I'm addicted to lace stamped images <3 .="" and="" black="" i="" in="" kleancolor="" konad="" my="" nbsp="" on="" p="" polish="" red.="" special="" stamped="" thumbs="" using="">
Ok, on the Milani "texture" polish.  I guess I'm used to TEXTURE in my texture polishes, as this was pretty unimpressive.  As you can see my nail is smooth.  I used three coats of the polish and it dried to an almost smooth finish, but I could see a little texture.  By the time I stamped my design and added a top coat it was pretty smooth.  Then when I added the jewel accent and added another coat of top coat, it was smooth.  So, not the best texture polish to use in my opinion.

Hope you all have a great weekend - now on to the pics!
