KONAD PLATE STORAGE

I have been trying to come up with a way to store my Konad image plates. I currently keep them in a little ziplock bag.

I find that when I am using my konad, and I have a specific image in mind, I have to sort through the stack of plates until I find the one I need. Then it dawned on me, what about a CD case, the kind with the clear sleeves. I thought maybe that might work, or even one of those little picture albums.

I had a cd case here at work that I just tried out. The problem is that, it is really easy for the plates to fall out if the case is turned upside down. Plus, it just seems like alot of extra, unused space. If I put two plates in one slot, then they will roll behind each other, and that sort of defeats the purpose! But I like the idea of just being able to flip through a little book to find the plate I want. I have a feeling that my plate collection is going to grow, so while it might seem manageable now for me to just keep them in the little ziplock bag, it's not a good long time storage idea.

How do you all store your image plates? Does anyone know of anything similar to a cd case or photo album that maybe has smaller slots?

  1. I'm not sure how the dimensions compare, but perhaps trading card binder pages like so: Binder Page. Plus, it's expandable as you get more plates. Just have to buy more pages.

  2. I use an old mini-disc case.

The slots are sized perfectly for the image plates and they have a zipper that keeps them in place.

Although mini-discs never really caught on in the U.S. they were very popular overseas, so cases might be more readily available online.

  3. Hi Brooke,

My first storage is a plastic ID sleeves:

then for my second storage that was given to me by a friend:

Basically the plastic sleeves are the one being used to store the NBA cards here.

  5. Brooke- You can make little compartments in the CD case by stapling vertically down the middle and making two pockets. Add some tape to the back side of the staples so it doesn't snag.

On the top, you could add a piece of Velcro to the inside of the pocket to seal the top. Just get that double-stick velcro tape.

Of course, I throw my plates in a box....and then they wind up everywhere, including one I found in my bed.

  8. Hi- i love your blog and after reading this, I may have another idea for you- I'm looking into this for myself as well. The konad discs remind me of the gamecube games- they're mini cd's! I did a search online and they sell special cases made for the gamecube discs, which i am sure will work for the konad plates as well! just google "gamecube game case" or something, and you should see things pop up that will give you an idea of what they are. I'm sure you'd be able to find them at a gaming store near you. Good luck!!

  9. I use trading card binder sheets (for collectible cards) I don't have many round plates since I have the Salon Pro case which comes with the large image plate. I lay 2 sheets with the loose plates in them flat on top of the foam pad then close the "drawer" over them and they stay pretty much in place. If I get many more I will transfer them to a binder. I know this is an old post but I thought I would share :)
