ICING SWATCHES

Finally I have some nail pics for you all. Last night I was still a little bit busy, but I made myself sit down and do some swatching for you all. I don't know how many of you have done swatching, but it is soooooo tedious, at least to me. I really have to be in the mood to do swatches, or they usually turn out really crappy. You can usually tell if the clean up is bad, then I wasn't really feeling doing any swatching. Last night I felt pretty good about doing some swatching though, I just wish the colors would have worked out better than they did.

First up, ALL of these nail polishes were on the sheer side!! I did three coats of WINE N DINE and BUSTED. The rest of the colors I did FOUR coats and look how sheer they are.

Second, I had that weird nail polish dragging thing, where it will only drag up by the cuticles, where it will make like a little bald spot in your nail polish, lol.

Third, about half of these polishes brushes were Crap - with a capital C ladies.

I did like that even though these are sheer, they would all work as great top coats with a corresponding color, since they have all that holo glitter to them. I still haven't given up on Icing yet, I have some pretty nice pigmented (at least they appear to be from the bottle) shades yet to try. Also, the nail polish formula (minus that weird dragging thing, which could have been the brushes fault) seems to be pretty good.

I left this pic blurry so you could see all that glorious holo winking at you!

  1. They are pretty though!
I had to apply 3-4 coats on my nails, too.

  2. RAI - IF these didn't have the holo in them, I probably would not wear any of them again. Holo saves the day!

  3. Thanks for these swatches, Brooke! These kinda look like a cross between the Romantique collection and holos. Pretty!

  4. NESSA - Oh, yes, they do kinda! Didn't even notice that!

  5. I wonder what those sheers look like over black! I used to hate sheers until I saw what The Polish Addict did with the "toppings" from Misa's Sugar Sugar collection, now I have a reason to own them!

  6. THE ASIAN GIRL - Oh I remember that post she did. That post is the reason I bought that whole collection when Misa was doing that huge sale not to long ago. I wish I would have painted two of my nails on each hand black when I was doing this so that there would be a comparison. I just didn't expect them all to be so sheer.

BROOKLYNSHOEBABE - These could still work over black and look awesome like The Asian Girl suggested.

  7. I wasn't a fan of the Icing polishes I got for my daughter @ Christmas time for these very same reasons. She doesn't seem to mind as much. *shrug*
