LOVE 'N' LACE

This didn't turn out exactly how I pictured, but I still like it.  From a normal distance this looks ok, but in my up close pics, I can see all the smudges and places where polish didn't transfer as cleanly as I like.

For the base I used OPI - Don't Bosa Nova Me Around (my favorite nude to use) and then on my accent finger I used Milani Texture (more on that in a minute)  - Tainted In Red.  I stamped using the new Mo-You London Bridal collection plates.  I'm addicted to lace stamped images <3 .="" and="" black="" i="" in="" kleancolor="" konad="" my="" nbsp="" on="" p="" polish="" red.="" special="" stamped="" thumbs="" using="">
Ok, on the Milani "texture" polish.  I guess I'm used to TEXTURE in my texture polishes, as this was pretty unimpressive.  As you can see my nail is smooth.  I used three coats of the polish and it dried to an almost smooth finish, but I could see a little texture.  By the time I stamped my design and added a top coat it was pretty smooth.  Then when I added the jewel accent and added another coat of top coat, it was smooth.  So, not the best texture polish to use in my opinion.

Hope you all have a great weekend - now on to the pics!

OPI - MUPPETS WORLD TOUR

Hello!  I was feeling a little uninspired last night so today I'm just feeling "ok" about this.  Nothing wrong with it but I'm not gasping over it or anything, lol.

I used 3 coats of OPI - Muppet World Tour.  I thought I would like more colors from that collection but I didn't.  I do really like this one though.  I stamped using kleancolor #05 black polish (great, cheap black to stamp with!) and used a plate from Mo-You London's Suki Collection # 05.

MY BABY..........JUST LIKE MOMMA!!

Today I have kind of a few different things to share with you guys. First up, I know that you all that follow me on social media have seen a TON of pictures of my baby Aubrey, but for those of you that don't this will be your first time getting to meet her.  She takes after me in SOOO many ways, she is bossy and impatient and loves to paint her nails!  She is almost 18 months old and at that stage where we have to watch her every second because she is getting in to something she shouldn't.  Like painting her toe nails while I was taking a nap.  I gotta say though.........she never spilled the bottle and from the looks of it she dunked the brush in there several times to get that much on her foot.  As you can see, she was very proud of herself!  ( I was too a little bit, lol, but don't tell her!)

Next up is a few pics of some misc. mani's I did.  The first set of pics is one I did on my mom and the other two are some I did on me over the holiday weekend.  They chipped or got changed before I could take better pics of them but I loved them both so much I wanted to still share them.  I've added limited details on what I used for these mani's from what I could remember.  Sorry - I'm trying to get back into the swing of things and get my pictures taken right away before I destroy my mani.

The base color is OPI LE Sally's Beauty 50th Anniversary polish - 50 is the new fabulous.  Stamped in silver using Mo-You London Mother Nature collection plate #02.

The base is a purple gradient stamped in white using Mo-You London Bridal Plate Collection #05 for the rose & #07 for the lace.  LOVE THE LACE PLATE!!!  Then my newest favorite trick to do is to use a OPI sheer tints polish to go over the white stamp to make it match the color of the mani.  This made it look like those plastic lace table cloths, but in a cool way.  I loved this one!

For this I painted my nails black and stamped in white with MO-You London Hipster Plate Collection #05.  Then to add color I did my trick of adding layers of OPI Sheer Tints and I used a few of the Sally Hansen Triple Shine polishes that are like the sheer tints.  Compared the OPI polishes were superior to the Sally Hansen ones though.  The colors were more vibrant and didn't cause dragging/smudge marks when used.

BLUE LAGOON

I did a sponge gradient using blues and greens.  I LOVED the sponge gradient, but after that it kind of went downhill.  This is one of those mani's that I had great idea's in my head, but they never really happened on the nails.  I'm gonna re-do the sponge gradient and just take pics of that, because I really liked that.  I wish I would have done the flowers in white instead of gold too.  So much I would change about this mani, lol.  Anyway - on to the pics!

For the sponge gradient I used Nubar - Blue Raspberry, Diamond Cosmetics - Magens Bay Blue & P2 Color Victim - artful.  Then to stamp I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Brisk Blue and China Glaze - Passion.

PURPLE SPOTTED FEATHERS

Hello :)  Today I have a purple spotted mani with a feather design stamped on.  I started out with a base coat of Kleancolors #16 Neon Purple.  Then I added 2-3 coats of J brand nail polish #JNP108 Purple Spot.  Some nails I added the third coat to if I thought it needed more spots.  Next I stamped a long feather design across 4 of my nails and on the accent finger I stamped a southwest zig zag pattern.  I used Konad special polish in white and I thought it was too stark in comparison to the purple so I topped it off with OPI Sheer Tints Don't Violet Me Down.  It added the perfect accent to let my stamp stand out without over powering the whole mani.  This really got me inspired and I have a few ideas I want to try out this weekend using my sheer tints.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

DRUNK DIALING?? IN THIS CASE, YES!!

Today I'm showing off a fabulous polish by Super Black Lacquers.  This one is called Drunk Dial.  I love this color!  It's a super pretty violet purple jelly base with orange, red and holo yellow glitters.  A color combo I wouldn't think would work, but man does it WERK!  I wanted to stamp it, but I didn't want to completely cover the polish up, so I went for a more open all over stamp and used black that just kind of blended in without taking away from Drunk Dial.  I used one of my new stamping obsessions Mo-You London to stamp the design with.  I used a plate from the Time Travellers set, the 70's #02 plate.

EDIT: I forgot to add - I used Kleancolor nail polish in black to stamp with, bought for $1.00 - look how wonderful it stamped!!  Just as good as konad.

BLING BLING.....ANYBODY THERE???

HEH!  Yup, I'm still a big dork! lol  I'm giving blogging another go.  I have really missed blogging you guys! It took me a few years to miss it, but it did eventually happen :)  After giving it some thought, I've decided to give this another go 'round.  I had to think long and hard about what I was getting in to again, and try to figure out the reasons why I stopped. Some of those reasons are out of my control (negativity, post/photo stealing to name a few) but others I decided I could change!  I realized blogging became a chore, another JOB that I wasn't really getting paid for. Yes, I would get samples but I came to realize my blog became nothing but sample swatches and that's NOT why I started this blog in the first place.  So I've decided to go back to what makes ME happy and I can forego free nail polish and get back to posting nail art or anything else I darn well please!  That's not to say I won't post swatches but it won't be my main focus and I won't break my back (or nails, lololol) to get a new collection swatched.  So with that said, I'm going to ease back in to things.

Some things have changed though - for those of you that are my friends on facebook you already know most of this.  Anyway, I just recently had a baby, she is 17 1/2 months old.  I love her dearly, expect to see pictures of her, like ALOT of pictures of her :)  But with that, I don't get to paint my nails like I used to, so I really don't know how often I will be able to do posts.  I've been painting my nails after she sleeps at night but I don't always get to do it, so the frequency of posts are up in the air right now.  I also got my twitter back up and going again and have started Instagram, so there are even more ways to find out whats up with Getcha Nails Did.  My facebook is my personal page and I might end up changing that with time, but it's baby steps at this point.

I wanna say THANK YOU to all of you gals who were so positive and had such nice words of encouragement when I posted that I was thinking of coming back.  You ladies are literally THE reason that I decided to come back.  So thank you so much for that.

Ok, well now that's out of the way, let's talk nails!  I forgot to get nail polish names (first day back and I'm already screwing it up!) but it's all about the jewels on this mani anyway.  I got the big jewels from a flea market here in the city, but I'm sure you could find something similar near you or on the internet.  I remember scouring the internet for nail art stuff like this and couldn't find it, like couldn't find ANYTHING, and now, just a few years later and it's so much more readily available.  I surrounded my big jewel with lots of little pink jewels to give it a more finished look.  Then for fun I added some heart jewels to my thumbs and surrounded them with little pearls.
